The leg is too short.
I have a 2006 Toyota Tundra. The leg didn't screw in tight enough to work.

Nice holder, needs more padding in the rear, and hook needs to retract in more
The media could not be loaded. Got this holder since I've been looking for one that I really like, but each has plusses and minuses about their design or usefulness. This holder doesn't come with any instructions other than what's printed on the outside of the packaging box. It's ok, since it's easy to assemble. This holder has a retractable metal hook which seems to be the latest design nowadays for these types of holders, which attaches to an air vent fin in your car.One flaw with these types of holders is that once you hook an air vent fin, the holder holds the entire weight of your phone on this single hook. I always thought these types of holders need two metal hooks to spread the weight load, or lower legs to help support the holder. This new holder includes a pair of lower legs which support the metal hook. The backside of each leg has some cushioning so that the plastic doesn't rub against your car dash. I think the cushioning is nice, but it's needs to be a little thicker and should cover the entire backside of the legs, not just the feet. Also the cushioning should extend to the plastic piece housing the metal hook. The extra cushioning would prevent any plastic piece of the holder to rub against the car dash. The holder uses two pieces (one of each side where you place your phone in) to hold your phone. To widen the two grip pieces, you have to press two lower plastic pieces below the grip pieces. Squeezing the two lower plastic pieces inwards, the two grip pieces will extend outwards. After you place your phone in the holder, you have to push your phone towards the back of the holder to release an internal spring which brings the two grip pieces inwards. It's a neat and different design, but the spring mechanism is still something that can eventually fail, and the grip pieces can either no longer grip your phone firmly, or one (or both) of the grip pieces can fail to open. I've seen similar failures on other phone holders that uses this type of grip design. Time will tell after many repeated uses.As for sturdiness, the grip pieces definitely hold your phone firmly, but I found that the metal hook doesn't tighten itself over the air vent fin. It seems retracting the hook stops at a certain point and you cannot bring the hook closer to hook the vent fin tightly. I found this out by accidentally moving my hand upwards and hitting the holder, which caused the entire holder to flip upwards. When you have your phone in the holder, the weight of the phone (aka gravity) will weigh the holder downwards.Besides my issues with the cushioning and the hook, it is a decent holder which I've been using now for several weeks in my old Honda. I hope the spring mechanism for gripping the phone doesn't wear down or break.

If planning to mount on dashboard get some 3M tape!
The sticky part of the dash mount was not even a little sticky, so even though that was where I planned on mounting this, I could not. I have an iPhone 13 pro max phone in an OtterBox defender case, which is extremely heavy for a mount like this that’s why I didn’t want to put all this weight on a fragile air vent. Without the option for the dash mount I had to put it on the air vent. To do so I ended up having to remove two of the slats in order for the huge round piece that you screw down to tighten it to adhere as it was too big and would’ve broken the slats. I finally did get it attached, but I will only use it sporadically when I need a GPS as I’m afraid of the weight, pulling on the thin plastic in the air vent, causing it to possibly break if I use it a lot. So if you have a lighter phone, this should not be an issue for you. However, you will still have to remove a few slats as I am going to show you in the video and pictures attached. Hope this review helps you decide if this is for you.

A little tricky to install but adequate
Getting this holder aligned so it stays on the vent without obstructing buttons or moving the vent louvers was a challenge, but once I got it installed it works fine. The one-handed operation of the release and clip mechanisms is really nice and the bottom support has a space for the charging cord. Since I use a 90-degree charger, it has the added advantage of automatically unplugging the phone when I remove it from the cradle. I don't think it was designed that way but it works perfectly.

Not bad
This is ok. Not awesome but not horrible. It was easy to install but flops a bit on the vent. It did hold the Iphone and didn't fall off but it feels like it will fall off. It does it's job.

Works Well, But…
This is easy to place, holds the phone nicely but I can’t find a location where it doesn’t interfere with something on my dashboard. My other car is much older and has a different setup. I will try using it there.
