This is a toy that really stimulates the imagination and goes well beyond being just a construction kit. There are 172 interlocking beech wood logs, 27 colourful wooden farm life essential accessories and livestock plus 24 pieces of farm ground plan (87x65cm) jigsaw puzzle - I love this element of the toy, which gives an added dimension, and a good starting point. The pieces are well made and seem very durable; like all wooden toys, this won't date and can be passed down from one child to another - or even one generation to another. It's really high quality and the paintingis very good. With so many pieces, children's imaginations have plenty of scope to draw and design their very own farm. There are clear instructions to start children off, perfect for younger ones. They may like to incorporate existing farm animal sets too. As well as the logs, the set includes livestock, trees, flowers, vehicles and people. Younger children will probably need some help (recommended age is 3+), but older ones will play happily on their own, making this a product with longevity. The wood logs have interlocking grooves, and they can be reused as many times as your child wants to recreate their farm, whether it's one big farmhouse or a range of farm buildings. The flexibility makes this a superb way to encourage inaginative play; manual dexterity is enhanced by the kit and there's enough here for siblings or friends to work together, encouraging discussion as they plan their farm. An impressive set, unusual and with lasting play and educational value. The finished creation gives children a real sense of achievement and, unlike many construction kits, there's plenty of play value once a model is created. An exceptional toy.

This product surpasses my expectation. The quality is great and the contents of the set are perfect for our toddler. It comes with a cool play mat to set up cars and build track on. The tracks are well made and fit with other sets. The trains are probably not as good quality as other options but for the price offer excellent value and are more than adequate for our needs. Highly recommend.

We purchased this wooden farm for our six year old daughter as a detox from iPads and computer games, and we're glad we did. She has played with this toy endlessly since we gave it to her. She has enjoyed making her own farms and "being a farmer" and has also introduced some of her other toys and began making up her own games in her own little imaginary world. That was *exactly* what we were hoping for. Today she has had a friend come by after school, and they played with this set for two hours together, which is what prompted me to write this review. If you are concerned about how much your children are spending on iPads, or on the computer, try this colourful, tactile, and well made toy in order to jump start their imagination and promote good old-fashioned play.Regarding the product itself, I was very impressed with the quality. I was expecting rough edges, splinters, and un-finished surfaces, but I'm pleased to say I was wrong. All the wooden components are solidly made; nothing is going to break or snap, and they are beautifully painted. The quality is really very high indeed, and you are left with the feeling of a solid, proudly made, quality product, of the sort we would have expected from our childhood, or perhaps our parents before us.We're very glad to have purchased this particular product and have already recommended it to some friends with young children. We've bought one additional one as a Christmas present for a relatives young daughter.I would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending this product - go ahead and buy with confidence; you will not be disappointed.

great game but not sturdy at all. falls apart with the lightest touch. especially used by a 3yr.

The pleasure this wooden farm has given my 3yr old granddaughter is immeasurable. The puzzle base is great, fitting together neatly with large pieces and when completed forming a good solid base to put on farm buildings and animals etc. My 10yr old grandson was first to build the farmhouse and I have since taken over that role with much enthusiasm as the buildings can be changed and designed however one wants. 3yr old granddaughter is now beginning to make her own little buildings. The wooden buildings piece together smoothly and are of excellent quality. You can make barns, sheds, fences etc. The wooden animals, farm vehicles and people are just right. It is sad you cannot buy extra items from the company though. I did manage to buy some more wooden farm items from another maker which go extremely well with Shinington farms style and adds to the fun. All the pieces of Shinington farm fit neatly into its own smart cardboard box...it’s really quite amazing how much can fit in the box and when I first saw it couldn’t believe such a sizeable farm could possibly be inside. Would thoroughly recommend this farm and us oldies get as much pleasure playing with it as the children. Very successful and will clearly become a family heirloom.

This playset is nicely made, also includes a puzzle floor mat. My grandchildren love it, played together so nicely building the farm. I would highly recommend as gift as well, good price and good quality product.
