I wasn't sure such a thin mattress topper would actually do the job. I currently rent a fully furnished apartment and have to deal with the dreaded mattress thats been slept on 1,000 times by however many previous occupants. Needless to say its extremely uncomfortable and the springs are almost coming through the fabric.I decided to give this mattress topper a try in hope of finally getting a decent nights sleep. It came tightly packaged in a relatively small box considering it was for a double, inside it was vacuum packed with a warning sticker around how to correctly unpack. After opening I left the topper ontop of my double bed to allow it to breath. It almost sprung back to full size within a couple of minutes but decided to leave it for a further 6 hours to give it ample time to expand. Unlike some reviews my topper has no smell at all unless you physically push it up against your nose where you get the slight smell of new sponge.Fitting was nice and easy with its elastic strapping, its a tiny bit smaller than a double bed making it possible to still fit your top sheets as normal. Its dual egg shell design provides a soft top and a firm underside which (thankfully) was firm enough to hide the feel of metal springs!!I found the first night difficult to drift off, the sudden change to a softer surface without being attacked by my old mattress was weird, after spending 6 months positioning myself in such a specific way as to dodge springs and folds in my mattress this was a lot to get use to. However the second night was absolute BLISS! Quite possibly the best nights sleep I've had in a decade and I was incredibly shocked and surprised to find a thin topper like this could make for such a positive improvement.Other benefits I've found is that due to the egg shell design and air pockets the topper is extremely good at thermal regulation. Living in an apartment with normal electric heaters (don't even have storage) I've not had heating on in my place for over 3 years which can make for a cold winter. While sleeping on this topper I never felt too cold or too warm even with the crazy 18+ degrees we've been having this Feb.All in all this was a very worthwhile purchase especially for someone who's letting and can't change the mattress.

This topper literally turned my bed from unbearable to pretty comfortable despite my suffering badly from fibromyalgia. I have a double bed with a very firm mattress, which was fine until my partner moved in with me and then being unable to spread myself out made the pressure on my body too painful. Almost every night I went to sleep on the sofa instead. Ideally we would have a bigger bed, but this just isn't an option so I bought this to try and make life bearable. It certainly worked. It doesn't take away ALL the pressure, but is a big improvement. I love the egg-box construction as for some reason I enjoy the extra sensory input from this - I stroke my feet backwards and forwards on it!I believe some of the reviews here are lies, as it has always laid perfectly flat and hardly moves at all despite me being very wriggly. I've had it about a year now and it has not squashed thin at all - still bounces back into shape.One day I'll be able to afford a bigger bed, but will be very sad to not be able to use this on it!

I got this mattress topper because when I moved to the UK, I found that I could feel the metal in mattresses a lot more frequently. I have nerve damage in both of my arms, and was struggling to be comfortable most of the time. After getting this mattress topper, I don't have to worry as much about my sleeping position.I would call the topper a medium firmness.It arrived with no strange smells, and went onto the mattress with simple elastic straps, which keep it in position pretty well.I appreciated that the topper's "double layer" technology seems to actually be legitimate-- the foams here are certainly two different densities, and both contribute to how comfortable it is.They may be true "memory foam" but the foam does bounce back pretty much immediately.Overall, very impressed, and happy with the value.

Took my bed from something that was lumpy, springy and a downright backbreaker to something that was very enjoyable.Now I have moved places and it has taken a very comfortable mattress to an even greater level of comfort that makes me look forward to sleeping again.Would get this with the cover for ease of cleanliness, and would also pair with a ticking protector just to smooth over the egg shell design - although the egg shell design isn't particularly discomforting just a little different from what you may be used to.

This topper has 2 layers. The bottom layer is made of visco foam, with memory foam on the top. That means that the soft memory foam layer fills in those small spaces in your body contours and is slow to react when you move and the bottom layer which is firmer and thicker gives support to the rest of the body. I have found this topper to be very comfortable as I am about 16 stones and muscular, which means that there are many pressure points which needs alleviating. My bed is new and I want to keep it in good condition for longer and avoid having to turn it too often. When opening the protector at first, there is only a small amount of smell which goes after 3 or 4 days of letting it air out before putting it on the bed. It does make the mattress thicker so the current bed sheet might not fit properly, but that should not be a problem, you just have to keep fixing the fitted sheet as it slips up, or get deeper one. I have not found this protector to sleep much hotter than without, only a little warmer due to the memory foam layer. I am loving this topper for the comfort and the fact that it smooths out an uneven mattress which has deep tufting.

Excellent so far...good comfortable topper and does not seem to hold heat as some memory foam products do. Have been suffering from a bad back and again this has helped pad out the mattress I have. No complaints with delivery and after sales service. Very competitively priced too...
