Bad reviews are from bad choices, so makeshift one first to self test its usefulness its what i did
Very VERY useful, helped me soo much with foot drop, although at first its a little tricky to fit the velcro strap to the lace area for best fitting, but once you get that done, the top part of the strap can be undone to save the hassle of it again, thus the five star being about that and the fact its actually done what i needed, my walking speeds improved considerably even if i do feel a slight bit of discomfort to start with, but thats just the getting used to normality feeling again of walking, but i am glad i found this, and for anyone wanting to avoid expensive but accept its not medically advised, you can create makeshift AFO's like this or the solid brace type to see whats good for you before you make the dive to buy one

amazing for a crps sufferer, who has foot drop!!
Perfect for my foot drop and at an affordable price. Stronger than expected as walking of track, has strained it to the max!! Have tried lots of others and I have extremely complicated issues with my foot leg overall. Highly recommend and washes nicely, fits securely and very comfortable. Fantastic, wouldn't be without!!

Great for light foot drop that have some recovery or movement
Comfortable and if you have the ossur foot up or brace like that then you will like this it’s very nice a secure around the ankle the strap can come loose sometimes especially if you are heavy stretching pointing food down from landing or jumping by strap I mean the one to the laces but if you have light to Medium foot drop this won’t be a problem if you have sever foot drop this wouldn’t be suitable for you and it’s really suited to people who are at about 60% recovery from it for safety and fall risk safeI might add that it is worth the price and saves the Hassel of placing Bolts and inserts into shoes it’s a great cost effective brace if you want to try this style before getting a more expensive version like the ossurs or boxias

Not great on severe foot drop or those with dexterity/grip issues
As someone who has severe foot drop due to a rapidly deteriorating health condition, I purchased these in a bid to help me when transferring/standing to move to my wheelchair - although it seems a little pointless as I can’t stand/walk freely I really needed something that could stabilise my feet as much as possible.Did this happen? No. Now I have to be honest & say my foot drop and disease has deteriorated exponentially the last few years so this is very likely why these didn’t make much of a difference to me, if you have a slight foot drop (like I used to) these could* be a good option for you. I previously used an ankle brace that did help me a great deal but because it sat inside the shoe, as my feet worsened, they were essentially pulling my feet out of the shoe because the brace has to be so tight to pull my foot up to a normal level - this happened with these also which meant I’m still at risk of falls as my feet just won’t stay in the shoe. As I say this is very much a personal experience & won’t be universal.I love the idea of these supports as they’re much more comfortable than traditional AFO’s that sit inside the shoe but a big con of that for me is actually getting these things on repeatedly. I don’t have very good grip in my hands either so being able to thread these through shoe laces & the Velcro plus numerous straps to thread & fasten just make these a bit too much to get on for somebody like me. For just over £20 I’m glad I tried them but unfortunately for me they just didn’t suit my needs.

For the price point I think it’s difficult to fault.
This item was delivered to me on the 10th July 2016 so I’ve had it over 2 months now. Honestly, I thought I’d had it for a lot longer. I had been using the Foot-Up, made by Ossur. I actually think that the Foot-Up superior product for certain circumstances. The problem with the Foot-Up is the inlay goes underneath the laces which wears the elastic on the inlay. Replacement inlays cost £14.99. I have two inlays at any time that roughly lasted about a year. The OBER: the strap and padding, at goes around the leg, is thick and big. I have a very skinny leg. I’ve had to get used to it. The strap that feed through the laces isn’t elastic but it’s much easier to attach then the Foot-Up. I had two Foot-Ups because they were so difficult to interchange. With this product you just feed it through one of the loops of the laces. If you want discretion then maybe this isn’t for you because it’s obvious that you are wearing it. For the price point I think it’s difficult to fault.

Not fit for purpose.
The idea is great, however the velcro was not strong enough, adequate to hold the toe/foot up. It kept coming undone so unfortunately wasted our money.

VERY SUPPORTIVE
I have had foot drop since 1989 and in all that time, I deliberately kept away from wearing any kind of brace and support aid, because I assumed that my foot would grow stronger over time. However, this was not the case, and after a history of occasionally embarrassingly tripping and falling over raised paving slabs, I decided it was time to look again at foot supports. So I purchased the KONMED Adjustable Drop Foot Support, and immediately after fitting it to the top of my ankle, it supported my foot, and it is not all that noticeable! I wear shorts 365 days of the year and I had assumed that this type of support would be visible - but it blends in well with my trainers - so Hurrah, after 31 years - I can walk properly again. The product is well made and is strong enough to provide sufficient tension to prevent my foot from dropping as I walk. The only thing I will say, is that the cost of of this item is a little bit pricey, and could be slightly cheaper by a few pounds.STOP PRESS:September 2021 - after a traumatic 10 month period (due to the Covid 'Lock-down' and being in a very long waiting queue!), with two compressed lumber nerve roots in my back, my right foot, very sadly, has now fell to 'foot-drop'! So I am now wearing two of the KONMED foot supports, and you wouldn't know that I had 'foot-drop' in both feet! They allow me to walk naturally and confidently in the public domain!

Doesn't work. Velcro not strong enough
Week velcro strap means you cannot get it tight enough to be effective. Probably should expect that for the cheap price but have ordered a stronger, more expensive product that will be able to help me. Avoid this product and buy a one recommended by a physio/orthotics
