As a beginner to sewing and attending courses, I need calico to learn samples and toiles. I saw some reviews saying they'd only received 1 metre instead of the 3 stated but took a chance anyway and ordered 2 lots (for the price, it was worth it). I received the full 6 metres that I ordered and it was in one continuous piece rather than 2x3m pieces, so I've been able to cut it to the size I need. It's not lightweight, more medium and holds well so will be perfect for making toiles. Will definitely be buying more

Ok, when the calico arrived it was stiff and smelled a bit of wax. The smell went immediately when I washed it at 30 degrees, it became softer and lighter...it also shrank by about 20cm along the warp, and a bit by the weft. So bear this in mind - it's an excellent price and I wouldn't have a problem buying more, but the shrinkage is significant.

I had expected this calico might be very lightweight as the price of it seemed to be lower than a number of others I had searched for. However I was pleasantly surprised to find this to be a good, stiff calico. Natural cream colour, and certainly good enough to use for upholstery although I am only using it to line shopping bags.Certainly worth a try and if you like it, you can always order more.All good.

Timely delivery and good pricing

the buying information clearly said "per 3 metres", so why did i get 1 metre of this fabric instead for £6.89!!! DISAPPOINTING.....
