Q: Rainbow colour lava lamp. Does the pointed top clip securely on to the middle glass section? If not how does it fit?

Does not clip, just sits loose on tapered top.

Q: Is it dim enough to be left on during the night in a child’s room or is it quite bright?

I bought the 'Rainbow' lava lamp for an adult. These lamps are not dim, and get hot. Personally I consider they are not suitable to be left on during the night for adult or in particular in a child's room. A matter of Health and safety.

Q: Does the yellow lava/clear have the yellow and orange blobs as shown on the picture

Yes it is great, like traffic lights. I purchased for pre-school class 😊
