Good quality product
I bought this radiator to replace a Delonghi oil filled radiator with a mechanical timer and normal thermostat. This radiator is very nicely designed. It doesn't look quite so unsightly as some others and is significantly lighter than a comparable oil filled radiator. This might be a consideration if you need to move it around a lot especially up stairs. For my uses, this radiator had two main advantages over the oil filled delonghi, it heats up virtually instantly and it has proper 'climate control' style temperature management functions. it certainly heats up a cold room more rapidly than an oil filled radiator and seems to maintain the desired temperature more effectively. Also, the 'clockwork' style timer on the two Delonghi radiators I had, developed a really annoying ticking sound which drove me mad. None of that with this one thankfully! The radiator has two 1KW panels, one one each side. If required, you can have manual control, selecting the left, right or both on at once along with the temperature you want maintained. You can also set on and off timers for the radiator. However, the setting that I use, and I expect most other people use is to simply set the desired temperature and let the radiator maintain it itself. It does this by turning both panels on at once for maximum output, turning one panel off when it gets near to the set temperature and turning both off when it reaches the temperature. The clever thing is that by turning one panel off prior to reaching the set temperature, it reduces the 'overshoot' that would otherwise occur.I think that the advantage that this type of radiator has over oil filled ones is that it stops producing heat as soon as it reaches the desired temperature and it can produce heat instantly when the temperature drops. Oil filled radiators stay hot for a while when turned off and therefore can over heat a room and also take longer to heat up again when the temperature drops. You therefore get a more 'peak and trough' effect than with this radiator. I can't honestly say that it uses less electricity than an oil filled radiator, but it certainly maintains a temperature more effectively. The display is comprehensive and clear as is the remote control, although I don't see much use for it as I simply set a temperature and leave it. However, it is nice to have it!.I concur with the comment others have made about the brightness of the display. I certainly would not want this in a bedroom as it is as bright as a nightlight. It does make it nicely readable in a lit room however.I would certainly buy this radiator again and the Amazon price was as good as I could find.

Great product with ability to regulate heating
Great heater for conservatory. Looks better than most and heats quickly. Doesn't heat room too much as temperature control easy to use. Great that this can be set to go on at required times and off again with setting control. Feels very safe and I leave the settings to do the job without worry of switching on and off. Usually concerned about fire risk with these things but mind at ease with this product. Only issue is that you can only say 2 different times to come on and off. Not sure about energy efficiency as no bills yet but I have a feeling it better than most given that I have smart meter and not noticed any steep rises. Don't really use remote but handy to have if in the house and reduced mobility. Great product so far and reasonably priced. Would highly recommend if you want a room adequately heated such as a conservatory.

Finally go there
Lets get the negatives out of the way first, the heater was delivered quickly but wasn't producing any meaningful heat, called Dimplex for support (very helpful and supportive) arranged for it picked up and another sent out. The following week they sent out another but it was their 3kW as oppose to the 2KW I had originally ordered. I wouldn't have minded but it was far too big for the room size making it stuffy and needed switching off every 5 mins or so also the cable latch was broken, called them again, another sent out. This turned out to be heavily damaged-the entire side control panel was hanging off with exposed wires. Called them again, they arranged for another but due to it being XMAS/NYEAR would arrive in two weeks time it was further delayed by a week due to the city link collapse. The fourth appeared fine but we were noticing a horrid "fishy" smell in the room and went through a few spring cleans to detect/eliminate the odour and by accident discovered that it was the heater when my hand brushed against the plug. To be more precise THE PLUG was piping hot and producing the smell, I called them immediately and another was sent out, THE FIFTH-had it about three weeks and its been fine so far. (Im guessing theres a quality control issue somewhere along the line) Apart from the above inconvenience and lengthy waits I'd still recommend the heater as it :-Comes with a five year guarantee-Dimplex are really helpful and will pick up and deliver new one within that period for free. (Just make sure you keep the box)-The design is perfect, really really, easy and simple just take out of the box, plug in and your ready to go.-It produces a good amount of heat and will warm up a 14ft by 14ft room very nicely.-The main attraction for me has to be the ready assembled/robust wheels which allow the heater to move around easily and safely. Previous oil filled radiators have always faltered when it came to wheels /feet which are difficult to assemble and struggle to hold the weight of the oil filled radiator, this on other hand is very light so problem eliminated. -The cable storage compartment also is handy when storing away.I think barring the quality control issues its a very attractive, neatly designed heater which is very user friendly and safe especially if you have kids and or elderly family members. Amazon had the best price and I'd highly recommend both the heater and Amazon.
