Q: Ive tried several times but i just cant tie the knot tight enough! The pompom just falls apart, how does everyone else manage?

I have the same problem, I'm afraid. When I use the same wool to tie the finished pompom, the wool tears. I was thinking of using fishing line or a strong synthetic sewing thread but to tie using either has the potential to cut into your fingers so need protective gloves.

Q: roughly how much yarn is needed for one full and fluffy pompom please? thanks :)

I used lots of oddments which made a ball sized pom pom for the shoebox appeal but I would think 30/40 grams would be ample.
