Poppy Day

I got this book to read with my nursery class made up of 2/3 year olds. It was a simple way during circle times to explain about Remembrance Day to the children and they really enjoyed it and loves making the poppy’s suggested at the end of the book.

It is a nice simple story to read and lead nicely into other talk for my class

As an early year's educator I have often struggled to find books which are suitable for young children about remembrance day but this book is perfect. It's clear text and has lovely illustrations and I like the craft suggestion at the end too! Definitely a book which I will use in my setting with preschool children and it is suitable for primary school aged children too.

I work in a preschool, and this book is fantastic. It brought chills and hair to stand up on arms to all the adults, but it’s written for younger children to help with beginning to understand this patriotic part of our history. I would definitely recommend
