Product appears well made. Filter is very thin/shallow so not too much depth to it. They quote filtering specs but never specify the lab and how the test was done. Not sure if this is really a filter capable of .1 microns. Want it to remove smoke in car but not sure if it will work. Biggest issue is that replacement filters do not seem to exist. What do I do, throw it out when the filter needs to be replaced? Their website is not running so can't tell if they are still in business. I will pay more for a filter I can find replacements for. This one is risky.

My once fancy European new car smelling import bought while I was single, with that rich leather aroma, is no more. Even though is lasted way longer than possible, until the babies took residence. Now, the poor car’s new car smelling leather aroma is gone, gone, gone. In its place, some sort of funky smell that I just cannot figure out how it developed and how it has been continuing. So short of buying something that generates massive amounts of aroma, I thought of trying to find a solution. This, in combination with charcoal bamboo bags and Japanese grass, has that crazy odor been dissipating.What we receivedThe filter is presented in a very sturdy, heavy-duty, rectangular cardboard package sealed heavy duty plastic package weighing in at about three (3) pounds. That package is about 13.5” x 9” x 4”, it’s big. It’s easy to open and pull the filter machine out for use. There are straps and a plug and instructions that are included. The dimensions of the unit are like those of the box, except this is not square, rather, flowing, like a wave of air. Made in China.The debateNow we will not debate whether this carbon HEPA filter does really work, the individual reader can decide that, however, whether real or imagined, we wanted to take advantage of the benefits of what this claims to offer. Which is to freshen the air, purify, extinguish odors, etc...Feel & PerformanceThe filter has the look, feel, and weight of a fancy Bluetooth speaker, but it’s not, it’s an air purification system that looks like a fancy speaker. The filter feels light, but sturdy and durable, it’s at a size much larger than I expected. It’s big. It’s not something that you just stick on your dash and not recognize its presence. This is the elephant in the room. That includes attaching it to a head rest with that power cord. Too bad this was not battery operated. For me and my machine, it’s kind of awkward. Now, we placed this in various areas of the car and whether real or imagined, after a couple of days, the funky odor seemed to have not been as strong. We will continue to monitor. I did not have that much success with that anti-slip mat, maybe I am taking advantage of my car’s amazing handling in those turns.How does it work?The HEPA filtration with that carbon filter seems to do wonders. This filters the air, multiple times. Is it immediate? Like a spray. “No,” so do not have unrealistic expectations. This is something that will take days and may just be noticeable, so patience is a virtue. We think these worked very subtly.OdorThis captures odors and does not give off odors. It also catches that which is measured in microns. This is said to last for 2,200 hours, a year’s worth of work is 2,080 hours, so this, in theory, could last years before the light to replace goes on. Maybe that filter can be recharged by some method. I do not know where to buy the replacement, at this moment.Where to place?Only limited by imagination. Somewhere in the motor vehicle where the power outlet can be reached. This works for our particular use in controlling odors and musty smells.Noise.With that four (4) speed fan, I can hear this. The jury is still out whether this will be an issue.Indicator.That is so cool. I am still waiting to hit premium air quality though.ValueThese are on the premium priced size but should last for years. Other than for a filter swap, which I am not sure of the cost at the time of this review. Oh, wait, every three (3) to six (6) months. Insert the filter from the cabinet and plug the unit to the car socket. It wasn't hard to remove the plate for the filter. Anyone will be able to set this up without a problem.FUNCTIONALITY:This item works great!!! I used to smoke cigarettes but stopped a few years ago. There was always this muggy scent in my car that I cannot get rid of until I started using this filter. The button isn't click so you'll have to navigate to the button options. There's really not much to change. So far, I've only turned this unit on and off.QUALITY AND LOOKS:Item is light. The mesh outside gave this more of an expensive feel. Shape definitely gave it more futuristic aura. It looks good in my car and I'm sure that newer modeled cars would look nicely with this in it. I have a Honda Fit in black. So, if you think about it, ithis filter would look fantastic in it cause the center console is the same color and the same mesh style... Would look nice... This thing is so wide it doesn't fit in it by an inch. So, that's why I had to take a point off of it. However, if you want to throw it in the back seat, leave it there while you drive (yep, it'll automatically turns back on), that's fine too.MY THOUGHTS:I still use it but it's literally on the floor and that I know I'm going to need to keep buying filters.PS: I wrote this when I was high 😂

Bought this for the car because our air quality has been garbage for a while now. It is easy to use, no installation other than strapping it to the seat back if that's where you want it. However, every bump in our city streets shook the filter loose, and that made the purifier stop working and throw up a "replace filter" error light. This is not meant for using in a moving car, which is why we wanted it.

After a week of use, I can't discern any significant difference in my car's air quality. Granted, it only runs when the engine is on and I'm in transit, but the more I think about it, the more I wonder about the device's efficacy. I open a door or window, and don't we kind of reset the air state in the car? And this is not an ozone device, so its mild HEPA filtration isn't going to resolve odors or anything like that. I'm a bit puzzled then as to what exactly this device accomplishes even if it operates correctly and does filter some of the air?
