Q: How does this canopy attach to the frame?

The pipes just slide into each other, but I put a self tapping screw in each location that it was attached together to help it hold together a little better

Q: How long will it last in the Bay area, CA?

I don't know, but its not the thickest of materials. I had a small tree limb fall on mine and it punched a hole straight through. Soooooo

Q: Bungee ties included ?

No and it was not the size they said. It was to short and to narrow would not fit!
