Get ready to see the World differently.
As a Martial Arts coach, I have spent several years reading and researching how an Ecological Approach to skill development can better inform me on how to create better practices.Much of the research literature can be extremely dry and difficult to read. I bought this book with a reasonable understanding of the terms and ideas.I loved this book so much. It (for me) was wonderfully balanced to bring over key ideas and concepts with an engaging narrative. The first sections systematically dissect the ubiquitous beliefs we hold on how we move, behave and interact with the world, while pointing to some flaws and contradictions of these traditionally held views.Ecological Psychology, as presented in the book, offers a very compelling case that we see the World as it is. Directly and unambiguously. Backed with fascinating case studies and research, this book reads like a story, as it follows lead character Fred around his day to day business.Again, as a sports coach, this book is tremendously valuable and informing. It's also a lofty claim, but this book will also likely change how you see the World, and after reading, it seems impossible to see it any other way.
