Science & Play Crystal Laboratory

Great kit but I mistakenly assumed I could manage my 6 year old carefully to make some crystals. Despite warning him many times about keeping his fingers away from the liquid we'd prepared and explaining the dangers carefully I found him trying to fish out the crystals with his bare fingers. It's now been retired to the garage until he's the appropriate age! Don't buy for kids younger than the recommended age..

A bit complicated so have saved until my 6 year old grand daughter can use at a later date

A fabulous set, includes everything you need to do the experiments with which is a plus. Well worth the money. The experiments themselves can take days to do but this in my opinion makes it more fun for the child. We still have lots more crystal growing to do and the crystals we have made have pride of place in our home. A great buy so buy with confidence as you won't be disappointed.

Best gift

Most disappointed. Confusing and badly written instructions, obviously written by a person who is not a native English speaker. Very poor quality components, some of which are so badly designed they can hardly be used. The idea is good, and you can actually make crystals, but the whole thing is spoilt by bad quality and design. I have a degree in chemistry, so I know what I’m talking about.

I thought by the picture on the box that the crystals would be holdable when made. The instructions say they may not be touched and need to stay in sealed bottles. Haven't tried making them yet due to disappointment!

Hasn't been opened yet as is a gift but the box is weighty and substantial and on reading the info on the box there seems to be lots of possibilities and learning that can happen.
