Bit disappointed with this, which is why I'm giving it three stars not the four it probably rates. Seduced by the description as 'very soft for you to have a “broken in” feeling right out of the box.' It's replacing the adapted guitar strap I've been using which really is soft and supple 'out of the box' (and twice the price) which is going back to the guitar I borrowed it off.I'd call the leather medium hard, like a dog leash, very thick when it comes to threading it under the strings on the head, feels like it might effect the tuning like a 'sticky' nut though of course I may be wrong about that! Could be uncomfortable if you're just wearing a T shirt. Other niggles.But it's excellent quality in it's own way despite my misgivings and it'll do until I find something better. Disappointing.

A quality leather strap, well made will last a lifetime. A little too thick for threading underneath the strings of an A shape mandolin but workable.

Can’t complain

Excellent quality - lovely soft leather and beautifully finished. I particularly like the suede inside, which is very effective at holding the instrument steady. One niggle - I'm using it with my octave mandolin (I had a bootlace before!), and it's a bit wide at the headstock end. I've tried it behind the strings, where it's too thick and looks clumsy, and now I'm using it in front of the strings, but it's only just narrow enough to fit between the nut and the flare at the bottom of the headstock. I hope this is clear - I think it would be improved by making the top end 5 mm narrower. But thank you - I like it.

Very good quality

It looks to be a well made item, nicely stitched etc, but it is very thick. I tried to put it under the strings, above the nut on my mandolin, as shown on one of the item pictures on Amazon, and it is too thick to go under the strings. Same thing on a bass ukulele and a Mandola. I'm sure I will find a use for it at some point with some instrument, but this is the reason it isn't 5 stars for me.
