Schwalbe - Marathon Plus Reflex – Trekkingreifen mit Reflexstreifen für Fahrräder.

Bought a set of these for my Specialized Sirrus Sport. Very strong and good quality tyres. The reflective side wall is a good feature to provide that all important extra visibility when I cycle home from work at night. Although you will need to keep the side wall clean to prevent it from being obscured by dirt. I give the tyres a wipe with a damp sponge before I lock it up for the evening. I'm use my bike mainly for commuting on cycle paths and road and the tires perform very well. They were perhaps a little tough to fit but I managed with a little perseverance. Also worth noting that they're heavier than the cheaper more flexible (and presumably lower quality) tyres I had before. Nonetheless, I recommend spending a little more to get a pair of these. a worthwhile expenditure. The delivery was excellent and prompt (ordering on a Sunday afternoon with 3-5 days postage selected and arriving on the following Wednesday) - the seller comes well recommended and would definitely use again.

I bought these on the recommendation of a mate who is a serious cyclist, having got fed up after my second puncture in two rides. So I asked his advice on “bomb proof” tyres and he pointed me in the direction of these. He said he’d used them for 18 months commuting on a daily 50 mile round trip and had never had a puncture, so I got some. Purists have said in reviews I’ve read that these are ‘heavier’ than a standard tyre (true) and have firmer side walls which affect the feel etc. but as all I want to do is travel in comfort without getting punctures on my 25 mile or so leisure rides, as far as I’ve found they are absolutely no different in ‘feel’ or control from the standard tyres I replaced. Maybe if you’re doing the Tour of Flanders then the extra gram or two might be an issue, but for general cycling these are the business and NO punctures so far. Many of the reviews talk of them being a struggle to fit and they are a bit of a faff. I got some gorilla tyre levers (another review suggestion) and had a relatively straight forward time putting them on - be careful not to pinch the inner tube, as one reviewer mentioned, be patient and take your time and they go on ok. Very happy that these are a brilliant and value for money option for those who do not want to be sitting at the roadside mending punctures.

Beware clearance of your side-pull brake caliper! I've run various Vittoria and Continental 28mm tyres on my road bike with no problem. But the Maratathons are so tall that they rubbed the bottom of my brake caliper so I returned them. Not fit for purpose if you have what are by far the most common road brakes which are side-pull. Would be ok for disc brake wheels or for cantilevers which naturally have no clearance to think about. Kudos to Amazon returns, they were picked up by Hermes next day and refunded straight away.

I converted my bike to electric and bought a marathon plus for the back wheel a few months ago. No punctures so far, so just bought another for the front. These tyres perform amazingly well- wet or dry and at speeds up to 25mph. The only negative is that they are not as easy to fit due to the strong wire bead, not a fault. In summary I would recommend for commuting in all weathers and very hard wearing.

Puncture resistant. Bit expensive but worth it for the peace of mind (had 5 punctures in 5 weeks using a cheap standard tyre). Very happy with these and have used them for years. I use to do a daily 14 mile round commute, all on roads, and these reduced my punctures a lot (obviously, once they start to wear out, then punctures are more likely). Wont protect against screws (what will) , but good for sharp stones, glass and generally most other road debris.

I have a Specialized Roubaix and I experienced 8 punctures in one year, some due to those little grey road chippings embedding in the tyre and others due to pinching of the tube against the rim. In March 2021 (one year ago) I replaced the standard Specialized road tyres with Schwalbe Marathon Plus tyres. I haven’t had a puncture since and I rarely ever need to pump them up. Also they just feel so much more secure on the road in all conditions. The downside is that they’re more difficult to get on and off the rim but I’ll worry about that if and when I get another puncture. These are fantastic tyres and I recommend all amateur cyclists to change from those horrible slicks

Fitted front and rear on my bike in February 2014. Just over 6200 miles later (Oct.16) I'm having to replace the rear tyre as it has minimal tread left on it, due to taking the bulk of the braking friction. So that I can praise these tyres enough only large caps will do it....NO PUNCTURES in all those miles! (Pressure in these tyres I keep at around 90 psi) Commuting to work and for pleasure on road, road cycle paths and local cycle paths strewn with glass, grit and all the cr*p that falls off the rest of the traffic. I once pulled a 2 inch blackthorn thorn attached to it's small branch out of the tyre which had pierced the tread,had been deflected by the inner armour and exited through the side wall! The tyre I am replacing has over a hundred cuts,nicks and slashes in it! (There are more but I got bored after the hundred) Buy these tyres. They have, at the very least, saved me a hundred plus punctures at what, £3.50 per new inner tube? (I've found repairing high pressure tubes not very successful) plus all that stress on the side of the road at an average of 20 minutes per puncture. Absolutely definitely positively worth every penny ( and a utube video showing you how to fit them without any hassle).

Gomma da bici davvero eccezionale, ottima tenuta di strada sia su asciutto che su bagnato che si percepisce come una ottima guidabilita e sicurezza di guida. Le zone che frequento sono spesso presenti bottiglie rotte che significano tanti frammenti di vetro in giro. Prima forato almeno 2 o 3 volte l'anno nonostante cercasi di evitarli, ora ci passo sopra senza problemi!!!! Montarli non è poi così difficile, io mi sono guardato un paio di guide su YouTube, comunque il trucco è di avere un paio di fascette con velcro tipo i fermava o qualcosa del genere perché quando ne hai già infilato circa il 60 70 % se non lo fermi con la fascetta infili nel cerchio da una parte ed esce dall'altra.

Très bon pneu, ce n'est pas le premier que j'achète, il est vraiment durable et accroche bien. Il est livré non plié, probablement car il est très rigide. Il n'est pas si facile à monter qu'un autre d'ailleurs, particulièrement pour insérer les bords du pneu profondément autour de la valve, mais en roulant ça se place petit à petit heureusement.

耐パンク性の高さ、長持ち。で女房と次男坊の車両に入れ替えました。 まあ、とにかく無神経なのでよくパンクさせますよ、あの二人は。 これは高いタイヤですけどパンクし難いし、長持ちするので買ってやりました。 色々とこだわるなら（コンチの4シーズン）ですが、あいつらは（NOメンテナンス乗り）なので無理。 こっちが良いです。 組み込みは、トレッド硬い、サイド硬い、ビート硬い、で覚悟して組んで下さい。 気長にやれば先は見えてくる！ 因みに私の場合、2本組み換えで１時間でした。

Compré estas llantas porque conozco la calidad de la marca y confío en su desempeño. Sin embargo, la experiencia de compra fue arruinada por el mal manejo en la entrega. Para "optimizar" el envío, la paquetería decidió doblar las llantas y forzarlas en una caja más pequeña, usando cintillos que terminaron deformando el producto. El resultado: una de las llantas quedó irremediablemente torcida, con picos que hacen imposible un rodaje seguro sin riesgo de que se revienten las cámaras. Esto es totalmente inaceptable para un producto de este precio y prestigio. Compré dos juegos de llantas para mi bicicleta y la de mi esposa; de las cuatro llantas, solo tres quedaron en condiciones utilizables. Esto es una pérdida de tiempo y dinero, y la calidad quedó arruinada por un empaque inapropiado. Recomendación: Si decides pedirlas, asegúrate de que el vendedor garantice una entrega sin forzar el producto.
