The SAGE Handbook of Social Psychology: Concise Student Edition (SAGE Social Psychology Program)

Great Resource for Social Psych Students (Who Can't Afford the Full Handbook, Which is Pretty Much Everyone.)
This handbook is, as the name says, concise. On one hand, this is its appeal; it's much cheaper and serves as a good overview of social psychology topics. However, beyond your first year or two of advanced study, this handbook might be a little too general. It should be a good place to find useful citations, though, and may help with studying for qualifying exams. I will say that this handbook's breadth is impressive considering its limited space. Great for undergrads and for early graduate students, maybe less so for students who are further along and need more specifics.

Good book for Social Psychology
Good book and easy to reading. Social cognition and attribution theory are complicated to understand. I wish the author can explain with simple languages and illustrate with example.

Very difficult read. Uninteresting examples

Unnecessarily difficult to read
This book is like a overly technical summary of too many papers which makes it hard to follow. Of over 40 textbooks I have read over the past 3 years for a graduate degree, this one is the hardest to stay awake through. The language is not reader friendly at all.

When it's good, it's good...
There's quite a wide variation between the quality of chapters: some are written in appalling academic-ese, others' prose sparkles. And some topics are far more interesting and rich than others (a subjective viewpoint I know...) But as a dip-in, dip-out round-up of social psychology thinking, it works very well.
