FANTASTIC 4 BAND ANOLOGUE RADIO
. This Panasonic is based on a '90's design, has excellent build quality, super reception, and brilliant sound quality. it has a large 10cm speaker and 1 watt output. takes 4x "c" type batteries, or can be used on the mains, with the supplied lead. I was especially impressed with the chunky build quality, feels like it will last for years! it has fm,mw,lw and sw bands.....so,if you're after a decent quality radio, with good sound, then buy with confidence. (in fact i liked it so much, i bought a second one!)

Do NOT buy, especially from this seller.
Arrived with packaging damaged. Radio is not useable as it blurs the radio stations together.Very over priced.Asked for it to be returned got everything ready and Royal Mail had printed address on it, only for the to return it to me today as no one bothered to collect the package. I have reported the seller, as I have never had this type of problem before. Trying to contact Amazon to find out what happens next .

Nice unit, perfect for the technophobe.
I bought this to satisfy an urge for something retro - I've got various CD systems and portable DAB radios, all of them useful. I thought this would be ideal for my camping trips - it's pretty robust, it tunes quickly with a red LED light to indicate the strength of the channel and the sound is more than adequate for a unit of this size. The tuning indicator needle is slightly wonky but that's no deal-breaker. The tuning button is smooth and comfortable to use. The volume dial is slightly strange - it tends to wobble a bit - whether that's a design fault or just my unit I'm not sure but it operates the volume without any problem. The different wavelengths are changed vis a solid switch - a green painted dot indicates which one you're using. The handle is solid and the antenna is more than long enough - it sits at a variety of angles without any problem. One important point - it uses C cell batteries, not D cell batteries as advertised. All in all it's a nice radio, perfect for an older relative who gets bewildered by scanning buttons and presets etc.Whether it's worth 30 quid I can't say - I think you can probably buy a radio that does more for less.

Bought again
I bought one of these 3500s many years ago, and after a useful life and being dropped a few times the FM tuner wasn't working properly. I looked for a replacement radio but although many cheaper ones about couldn't find anything as good as this. I wanted a solid, chunky radio with long battery life and great sound quality. Was pleased and a little surprised to see this was available on Amazon and bought one straight away. A very good product.

has the greatest sound for a portable
This Radio although NOT DAB and Stereo, has the greatest sound for a portable. It has FM, MW, LW (for cricket), and SW (Short wave for when you are bored with TV and radio in general and want to listen to music of language of far and distant countries (under the bedclothes at night). Its so simple but brilliant. When powered by 4 x C type batteries they seem to last forever.I bought my previous GX500 and will be consigned to the garden/garage/shed while I'm pottering about. (With same old batteries as its seen lots of action).I want my new purchase to be in the house to listen and tune into SW radio and warn me in case of a Nuclear attack or a worldwide pandemic and keep me further updated weeks on end (using 4 X Well known make Alkaline C type batteries) of how the condition of the planet is in, as my current battery powered DAB radio wouldn't even last for the Tuning in!I'm apologise for any alarm or concern I may have caused as this is only a scenario but I don't want to alarm anybody of any impending global disaster, my real concern is the Cricket and Weather forecasting in the high seas around the UK (Available on Long Wave LW).This little radio has given me so much pleasure over the years and with its depth of sound for a "Mono radio" is one of the greats Panasonic have produced. Its Simple and has a great tone with very good volume and tone,.While the digital age is here and tries to crush our old Radios to the scrap heap in the Ether, I suggest you try one of these and rebel against the DAB POWER Hungry evolution making a contribution to saving the planet!.By the way it has a Mains Ac and Ear socket. The only draw back of the radio is you have to tune in Manually. Try it with your kids, They may hate you for it or love it. For the Money its Radio Luxembourg all over again. If you've read this thank you.

Something of a disappointment.
This would have been a good little radio but has been badly let down by three things:1. The tuning knob feels as if it is about to fall off at any moment and could easily be knocked off;2. The tone switch may just as well not be there at all, for all the difference it makes;3. Worst of all is the loudspeaker, which has a terrible woolly baffled muffled sound. The only things to be said in its favour are that it is analogue radio and it also receives short-wave.
