Have several spare cartridges and didn't want a new printer as I love the MP620. Works great, but initially took quite awhile to clean head and start up. Patience is required, but spent hours prior to receiving the print head, trying to get rid of the print error code. After installing the new print , I never saw the pesky code again. The Canon printer is amazing. The replacement cartridges on Amazon are great and very economical. A lot cheaper than my previous HP printer.

This is the replacement for the 1st one that I ordered and the condition of both are used. The 1st one wasn't printing all colors so I requested a replacement which I thought would come unused. The pictures posted are of the replacement. Ink is everywhere even though the foil that it is in is completely sealed. Same thing with the 1st print head order. Testing this one out to see if it works or if I have to return. Buy elsewhere.

When my printer stop working and gave the code error, I tried everything to fix it. I am so grateful that I did research and decided to try a new print head. I found a Youtube video that explains how to disengage the part inside of the printer. The printer originally cost approx. $800. After installation, it worked like it was brand new. I saw a lot of complaints in the reviews. I did not experience any of that and the model of my printer was aligned with the model of the replacement part. The colors are brilliant and it prints fast like the original OEM.

I bought this for my beloved Canon PIXMA MX870 printer. I say "beloved" because I really do love this printer. I've had it for many years and never has it it let me down....until recently. Unfortunately, I did a foolish thing - I let the printer sit with a very-low black ink tank inserted. This allowed the ink in the print head to dry up. When I installed a new print cartridge, every color would print except PGBK (page black - for text) - the most important of them all). Kudos to Canon that they designed this machine with a print head that's easy to remove - and therefor easy to clean/service/replace. I found a video online that showed me how to remove & deep clean the print head (it literally took 30 seconds to remove with no tools required whatsoever - once again, a shout out to Canon for brilliantly simple engineering). Unfortunately, no matter how many times I cleaned the head I just couldn't get it unclogged. I finally bit the bullet and bought the replacement print head that is the subject of this review. When I first installed it and ran a test print page I found that I still couldn't get the PGBK ink (i.e. text) to print). A few expletives later I calmed down and figured I'd try running a few more deep cleaning cycles just in case I needed to 'prime' the print head. I'm glad I did this because after 4 or 5 cleaning cycles the new print head started printing flawlessly and is doing so consistently now.So a word to the wise: If you have a similar problem and decide to purchase this print head, I strongly suggest you prime the new head by running at least 3 or 4 'deep cleaning' cycles on your printer.I will say this as well: When I couldn't get the new print head to print properly, I wound up writing to the seller asking for help/guidance. It's now 3 days later and they still haven't responded! :-(

Finally! ...My trusty years-old Canon MX870 is back in business! After that B200 error bricked my beloved printer, this print-head replacement brought it back to life instantly. I sure hope it lasts for awhile. I really love that heavy old MX870. IT NOW WORKS LIKE NEW. ( I tried cleaning the old print-head the usual ways, and it looked pristine, but success only came after the 1 minute it took to replace it with this new unit. )

The connection on one of the colors is broken , it shows that the color ink cartridge is not recognized . I used cannon OEM ink cartridge still not recognized .

The first unit I received was used, full of ink and unsealed. Would not work at all. Returned and replaced with a new, seal element. But still not full functionality.

I had some important papers I needed to print to take to my doctor when the head went out. Amazon delivered new one before 7 am next day and this was so easy to replace. I had my documents printed before my 8 am appointment.
