I've purchased at least 4 harnesses for my one-year-old pup, but the search for one that would fit him better and keep him safe after almost losing him after his collar broke during a recent walk made the need even more critical. When I researched harnesses, this one kept popping up as not only the most popular but the testimonies I read about other pet-parents having the same concerns for the same reason made me decide to try it. I'm happy to say not only does it fit perfectly, but my dog doesn't seem to mind wearing it. It has a third strap under his belly, which is quite unique and does make the harness stay put as he's walking and going potty. He's a 26-pound poodle mix with a 20-inch chest, so I bought him an XS which fit perfectly without any adjustments. So far, the peace of mind I have that we can walk safely after that terrifying experience is worth every penny I paid. The color I bought is Red and it's beautiful.

Xs size is perfect for my RATCHA. Soft, comfortable and durable for my little Houdini who has managed to fully or partially extricate herself from all other harnesses while in her car seat!I had previously purchased this brand for my larger ITALCHA who needed that rear strap behind her ribcage to be in her car seat safely without slipping out of a previous harness style.Highly recommend this brand and style!

We have the straps loosened as far as they'll go. Maybe a little too snug, but I rather it be that way.It's been over half a year and still in great condition. Despite the daily tugs and pulls and occasional hike, there is no wear or tear.Recommendation: LeashMake sure your leash is secure. If you look at the pictures you can see how we have out leash not only hooked onto the harness ring, but tied around the handle. He tugged so hard and the harness was go great that the leash actually came unhooked.We don't know the details of his past, but our rescue dog goes into immediate flight mode at the sight of a human and managed to houdini out of every harness/contraption we put him in. His escape attempts are less intense now. I think the harness gives him some sense of security, possibly from being snug/secure and us having better control. The price might seem a bit high for a harness but its cheaper than buying a bunch that dont work. And well worth the peace of mind on walks. I have a feeling this will last a long time too.Yes the handle works. I wouldn't use it to lift your dog, at least not more than a second or two (for their comfort), but emergencies happen.

We got this for our female Mini Aussie when we heard that it helped prevent escapes. But low and behold she still does when she's determined enough. The fit is a little wonky on her and moving the straps are not every easy to adjust. Do I regret the purchase? Yes. But is it a good high quality item? Yes! Overall we got a lot of compliments with this harass out on walks but I could tell my little lady wasn't very comfortable.

Very nicely made. Straps don’t loosen up with movement. Recommend this particular one for a Corgi. Ours is 26 pounds and, by design, she can be lifted with the handle if necessary. Roomy enough to not bind the front legs at the ‘armpit’. Strap ends are tucked in, not flapping around. The tummy band is in a good position for a Corgi, further back than most. This one is a keeper.

My puppy is an escape artist. I bought the Ruffwear harness to replace one I purchased at my local big box store. I was driving one day with my puppy strapped into her booster seat with the old harness and she slipped out of it! This was distressing since I was driving and she started jumping around in the back seat. She can’t escape the new Ruffwear one. It’s made of high quality materials and has the additional strap that goes around her abdomen. My puppy seems very comfortable in her new harness, and I feel confident that she can’t escape it. Plus the handle is super convenient for getting her in and out of the car! I get compliments on the harness in her puppy class too!

Very nice harness (it’s stiff but I’m sure it will break in after a few outings). My dog’s girth is 27” so that’s on the upper size limit for a small and lower limit for a medium. I ordered the medium because it was ready to ship for quicker delivery and it fits very well. Our foster escaped the harness the shelter gave us so I’m very happy to have this rugged 3 strap model (sure seems like it would be hard for her to back out of… fingers crossed).Only con: no buckle on the part that goes over their head so you have to either lift their leg or get your dog to step into it; the two back straps both have easy snap buckles.

What a great harness!!. Our chow chow escape artist has not conquered this. It has been a blessing to not have Oliver back out of this harness as he does with others. It fits well and is very secure. Also easy to put on and remove. Highly recommend.

These are the best harnesses. I've used them over the years for different dogs, and they adjust and fit many breeds really well. They are sturdy, and difficult to impossible for them to escape out of. Will continue to purchase this brand and model as long as they make it!

well made. i have had others were the dog can back out of but not this one. bit expensive but worth it.

This is my 3rd harness from Ruffwear and as always, me and my pupper are very satisfied with the quality. The straps are easily adjustable and the quality is durable. My dog wears it gladly and doesn’t stop him in any moving.The safety strap is an amazing addition to it since it gives the owner an easy when walking an escape artist.I would always recommend the Ruffwear harnesses!
