Death, Lies and Otto: The eleventh Otto Fischer novel

A good Yarn
This novel delves into Otto's past . It is a clever enough story and has an interesting analysis of the divide and rule tactic that hitler used amongst the upper reaches of the Nazi Party, a polict that contributed much to the failure of the German war machine in WW11.

Otto in trouble… again…
Otto Fischer really must be both the most unlucky - always in the wrong place at the wrong time - and the luckiest - always surviving - fictional character ever.Book 11 in this excellent series sees us going back in time to discover some of his back story, including the start of his friendship with Freddie Holleman. As ever, it’s a complex story, but well told.

A short but enjoyable 'prequel'
A nice addition to the Otto Fischer saga, a (fairly) short story set in wartime Berlin as a sort of prequel to the rest of the series. A little slight and with not much sense of peril - we know who will survive - but still a very enjoyable & informative read.

Fabulous prequel to the Otto Fischer story.
Otto, a man who just wants to keep his head down and try to live through his terrible injuries but trouble always seems to find him. Loved this prequel. Great story behind our introduction to Otto, Freddie, Gerd and others told in Jim McDermott’s usual style of absolute attention to detail and history but with his fabulous black humour. A real gem !

Poor book production
A good story, though not the best of the series. The physical book is a disgrace. It is self-published and has obviously never been near an editor: it is full of mis-spellings and misprints. Nor are the pages numbered.
