I bought this for a present for someone who loves to up-cycle furniture etc. and she says it is the best reference/guide tuition book she has. Full of ideas and lovely illustrations that are easy to put into practice and many other tips as well.

This book is excellent, great for ideas and how to achieve them, with plenty of scope to adapt methods for your own style... from fabric to furniture and every room in the home. Annie Sloan has developed something very special in the world of paint, anyone can have a go, minimum preparation, minimum fuss. This book is full of inspiration and I couldn't recommend it highly enough; I lent it to a friend, she had so much fun with it she kept it and sent a new one back instead! Enjoy.

Full of beautiful pictures and clear instructions for the projects. It also has a page showing the colours of the Annie Sloan paints with ideas of which colours to mix together to get the shade you want. I found this very handy. After looking at some of the pictures i couldn't wait to get started on my own project. The sort of book that you will keep forever on your shelf occasionally looking things up.

Very well laid out book with a colour wheel of all Annie Sloan colours. Great ideas on how to mix colours and the results of painted furniture items. Would have liked to see other ideas for everyday items such as hall consoles, dressers etc but overall a great book to dip in and out of. Would definitely buy another one of her books, also a great present for those interested in updating and adding new life to old furniture.

A really lovely book with lots of great projects and inspiration. I am a fan of Annie Sloan and already have several of her books, but this is great if you have furniture to paint. Just looking through the gorgeous photos is entertaining enough.There is a really useful section on the colour wheel using Annie Sloan's paints. She also shows you how to mix them to create new shades and which colours compliment others.I would recommend this book.

I love this instruction manual. The creativity is so inviting - you just want to get stuck in! I've not tried anything yet, but am looking forward to finding 'that special piece' of furniture that cries out for a makeover! If you love beautiful furniture and have hesitated to venture into the area of 'hands-on', I highly recommend this confidence-inspiring manual. The author also has several other manuals in print that I've not yet purchased, but I understand are just as inspiring!

The book has many good ideas and tips to achieve different looks. Some were not to my taste but the ideas underpinning these designs were still useful. I particularly liked the colour chart at the front which showed how the different Annie Sloan paints worked in relation to each other, which I found useful in mixing my own combinations. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who is thinking about using the paint.

I have learned so much and adapted Annie's techniques to suit my style as this is not a dictatorial book as she is an artist in the true sense and encourages freedom of expression.This is an easy and approachable book with lots of ideas and projects to copy that are informative and easy to follow.If you want subdued {sometimes} and a textural or rustic paint effect to surfaces, that are quick, unfussy and 'do-able' this is an ideal book. Of course the lovely and charming photos are a plus point and a delight to mull over with a cup of tea in one hand and paint brush poised in the other….epitome of content for me!Of course Annie is the queen of shabby chic and chalk paint and can do no wrong in my opinion and I have found the recipes and projects inspirational. {the paints are brilliant too!} Long may she reign!

Mi sono avvicinata da poco a questo mondo e a queste pitture. Il libro è utile per comprenderne l'utilizzo e avere spunti utili su come usare la pittura, su come mischiare i colori eccPeccato si trovino solo in inglese, visto che la mia conoscenza della lingua è abbastanza debole ho avuto un po' di difficoltà a leggerlo ma comunque non essendo un trattato medico ci si può tranquillamente destreggiare tra le parole e le figure. Arrivato come sempre il giorno dopo ottimo Amazon Prime.
