Good little book

I have the Duden illustrated Spanish dictionary. That is truly monumental. It covers everything from the constituent parts of a nuclear power plant, through the equipment and tools in a wide variety of workshops, exploded diagrams of vehicle engines ...DK have presented a reasonable selection from 'ordinary life', in a sensible breakdown of categories but I was disappointed at how little I found in the 'building/plumbing/electrics' section.I n September I will launch into the renovation of a flat in Valencia. My Spanish, especially technical Spanish to do with building work, is not good. The DK book will be no help. The Duden - about 2kgs of it - will be. But the DK will be useful in daily life, I am sure.

This book is excellent, I believe a great deal of thought has gone into producing it. The photographs are beautifully clear and precise, and well labelled, removing any ambiguity. The vocabulary is very thorough for each topic heading, Even though I have been studying Spanish for some time, this book threw up many examples of vocabulary which I had not encountered which I nevertheless found extremely useful to know. For example, the food section covers many examples of unusual and exotic types of foods, herbs and spices etc, the transport section covers in much greater detail than most books the names of parts of cars, planes etc. All manner of sports and leisure activities are covered. Anybody can enjoy this book, from the beginner to an advanced user because it is so easy to browse and pick out words which you wish to know.

Easy to understand with photos and picture.

Couldn’t get the online pronouncation part so not very handy to learn the language

I bought this Spanish/English dictionary originally to help me with learning Spanish since then I have bought so many for my Spanish friends who are learning English that I have lost count. Invaluable resource to give to any age of person who is learning. I have also bought the one for French for a couple of people as I knew that this book would become their most useful learning tool. I would thoroughly recommend that anyone learning another language makes sure that they buy one of this range of dictionaries because they will never regret it and also they are so cheap.
