LED Lenser replacement battery cartridge for P7.2, T7.2 - switch cage

This saved me having to ditch a very nice torch after the Duracell batteries supplied with it vomited all over the inside. The fit is good and it works in both my P7 and my P7.2, well worth the money ( compared to the replacement cost for the torch.

I was dubious about this having read the other reviews, but with a knackered contact in my existing battery holder due to a leaky battery (lesson learnt there!) it was the only way to try to resurrect this fantastic torch without just buying a new one.Either I got lucky or they've improved the tooling in the factory. This just screwed straight in and works fine. I didn't have to modify it or get the toolbox out at all. I cannot find fault with this and the dispatch time was reasonable, it merits a 5-star review.

As others have posted, my P7.2 had suffered a battery leak (Duracell batteries) that rendered the torch unusable despite cleaning the contacts, etc. on the cartridge. Would a replacement work, I wondered, before considering that £15 was worth a go before outlaying a lot more to replace the torch completely. I'm glad I gave it a try as the part delivered appears to be a genuine Led Lenser part, fitted into the torch without issue, and I now have a fully functioning torch again. One very pleased customer.

OK 4 stars is probably misleadingly high. However, it works - eventually - and does the job as intended. If you are buying this item you MUST be prepared to get a blade or a needle file to work at the thread to get it to fit. The P7 base has a metal thread so ultimately it's just a matter of tighten, release, tighten and score the plastic thread of the replacement cartridge each time.It is shocking that this is listed as a suitable replacement for a P7. I didn't try it on my T7.2 but it absolutely did not fit my P7. That being said if you buy this item you aren't going in blind; the reviews here say it all. After a bit of work it fits snugly and works perfectly. There is a slight coloured edge tint to the beam of the 7.2 that I find a little distracting when I'm concentrating so I personally am 4 stars worth of grateful for having my P7 back in perfect working order. Be prepared for mild frustration though.

I can see why others complain slightly, it is tricky to screw in and ensure it is square and not cross threaded, but otherwise it is perfect.As another says, this battery cage is the weak design point of what is otherwise probably the best torch of its size on the market.Being able to so easily replace this part is excellent.

Having had a battery leak badly damage the battery cartridge that was part of my expensive LED Lenser T7 torch I was really pleased to find that I could purchase the battery cartridge as a spare part, however .... the fine thread on the end of the replacement battery cartridge that screws into the torch body was very poorly moulded (usually caused when the die used to mould the component is worn out). Luckily I am an engineer so after about 10 mins of reforming the thread with a blade I managed to get it to start but the thread form was very poor and it was really tight to get in. Seeing as I got it to work eventually I didn't bother complaining to the supplier but I doubt if somebody not used to dealing with this sort of thing would have been able to sort it out. To sum up - very pleased to find the product on sale, but the quality was disappointing

As I own original P7 I wasn't sure it would fit. Took a gamble and it threaded fine onto the torch. The only problem was that the push button wasn't long enough. So I trimmed a small Lego cylinder and super glued it onto the push button. Works like new now, very pleased

First of all, I agree with what the other reviews have said about it being very tight to screw into the torch.However instead of using a file on the thread, I sprayed a small amount of silicone onto the thread which allowed me screw it in a lot easier.I had a can of silicon in the house but I am sure that a light spray from a can of polish would be just as good.Apart from that the replacement Battery Cartridge worked a treat and saved me buying a new torch.
