tons of information that can be used to understand and make so many baskets. Unlike prescribed patterns this book explains materials and techniques that you can use in your own designs with materials you have on hand.

Nice information about basket making for those willing to work on it. Wish I had the drive I used to.

I was hoping this would have SOMETHING about gathering/foraging for materials, but it's all about different weaves. Which is great, but you kind of need material first to weave so..... that would have been helpful info to include.

Best book ever, so many different items to do, informative, great value for money

I was looking for a book with details of how to make rush or pine needle baskets. It does have this information but I think readers in 1930’s must be more intelligent than me, or perhaps had better concentration levels. I think once you really delve into the book it will be more straight forward than it first appears. Only thing it doesn’t appear to say is how much material you need but perhaps this depends on how much you can forage. I will persevere and try not to be beaten by it!Having persevered I can say that it became much easier to follow and lots of classic techniques are illustrated so you can pick and choose from it.

Interesting read but rather old fashioned and not as informative as I had hoped.
