The Rise of the Dragon: An Illustrated History of the Targaryen Dynasty

I love Illustrated books. I bought the Illustrated book of The World of Ice and Fire a few years ago, and this book is exactly the same size and design as that one.The illustrations are gorgeous, it really makes the book pop for me, and it is a joy to read. The pages are thick, colourful, and it is beautiful to read. I loved seeing the way that George designed the original Iron Throne for example.It covers the period of The Conquest of the Seven Kingdoms in 2BC, to The Regency of Aegon III (Rhaneyra and Daemon's Son) in 135AC.This book is volume One, it covers half of the Targaryen history, so there is more to come, and I for one cant wait to have Volume Two which i imagine will coincide with House of The Dragon Season 2 in 2024.Solid 5 stars.

I brought this book for my partner as a Christmas present. We both love Game of Thrones especially House targaryen so this book was a must for them! It’s one of the most beautiful books I own, the artwork is stunning, the writing engaging yet informative.

Wish I had this Artwork when I was reading Fire and Blood. I like how this is shorter and more Art focused. Tis a must buy for any fan of Westeros. Plebs or Highborns alike should read it.About the sealed thing, its just a pet peeve. The book was in good condition, save for some dust, hence my desire for such a book to be sealed.

Came in in perfect state.Beautiful cover. I wasn’t expecting it to be this big and heavy but I should have checked before. It’s the kind of book that will look amazing on your book shelf.Loved it!
