LEGO Modular Green Grocer - 10185

I got this lego set when I was a bit younger and I must say, it's really really good. The detail in it is immense for a lego set and it's really fun to build. When I got it, I remember being so drawn in, that I built it in one day. I spent the whole day building and this can truly get a person drawn in. After building it, you can use it as a nice thing to have in your room or just disassemble it and build it again.I am a tad older now but I still like to have it on my shelf as it is a really nice thing to look at. I remember getting it for cheaper somewhere though, so it's worth a try looking somewhere else to buy this. It's one of my favourite lego sets though, and it's definitely a lovely thing to own.

Fantastic - as is the wole streetscape. But get in on the lego website where it costs a substantially cheaper £120!

Great set and very fun to build. The "removable" floors are a key element to letting the kids really play with the set. One additional feature that I appreciate is the fact that many decorative elements are created by combining standard pieces in an unusual way---the railing on the roof deck, for example, is made out of "skeleton legs" and "hatchets."A challenging build but not frustrating, my only disappointment was that the back and sides of the building are not very detailed or interesting. The rear does have a nice fire escape, but mostly it's just a lot of green plain brick. Lego with their later buildings in this series did much better at creating visual interest for every side of the model. Original price at launch was around £120, it's a "collectible" now so if you stumble upon one at a yard sale, grab it!

I am the father of twin 11 year old boys and I have been purchasing Legos for them since they were about 3 or 4. My boys get along very well and share the building responsibilities. To this day I have never had to help them build a set and they have built every set they have ever received. I have always been impressed with how well diagramed the sets were and when my boys got started with Legos they could build them even though they didn't know how to read. I am not sure how much the twin thing helped since they each had someone to share the building excitement with and create adventures. There was also the added bonus of having 2 different perspectives to figure out some of the tougher builds.The Green Grocer was on their list for some time and was a big hit this Christmas along with the Cafe' Corner and Market streets. The details are incredible and well worth the purchase.Legos require patience and if started early enough, perhaps help develop patience, I'm not sure. I have been very pleased with the quality of the pieces and how well they stay together as well as the wonderful imagination that went into creating each model.Legos have come along way since I was a kid and this is the toy that my boys will keep into their adult lives and pass on to their kids.Additionally, Lego has produced a number of wonderful PC games that were both entertaining and also helped give them ideas for actual role playing with the real sets.Keep up the good work!

Dans la série des grosses maisons lego ( voir aussi café du coin ), un très bel ensemble que j'ai monté avec mon fils ( j'ai 33 ans, il en a bientôt 4 ). De multiples détails ( balcons avec rideaux, frigo, caisse, cheminée, horloge, escalier de secours extérieur, chat et souris bien cachés, balustrade faite avec des petits marteaux... ). Un montage facile mais qui m'a pris au moins 5 séances de 2 ou 3 heures, bien décomposé en 4 étapes ( rez-de-chaussée, 1er étage, 2ème étage, toit avec terrasse ).Vivement qu'amazon commercialise les autres modèles du même genre !
