Canon 2422H63 PowerShot G9 X Mark II Digital Camera - Silver

A long term Canon camera user, I was looking for a small, light-weight wuality camera that I can take with me wherever I go (ideally with the style of a Fuji and the picture quality of a Leica). This more than fits the bill and has now replaced my GX7 and my G1X as the "go to" casual camera. Admittedly, it doesn't have the super fast lens of the G1X or GX7, but it more than compensates by being so compact. The touch screen is a joy to use, building on the EOS 100 and (much maligned) EOS M CSC. The 'phone integration is also very intuitive. As ever these days, there's no full paper manual, but I've been able to do everything I want without it.I particualrly like the multi-purpose lens ring to control most features. In the ideal world, I'd like a longer zoom and a dedicated exposure comp control, but I recognise the design trade-offs between physical size and features.I'm also a fan of the Fuji-like silver and tan colour scheme, though some may prefer the black.For me, this is my favourite casual camera, with the versatility and control you'd expect from a DSLR and the size you'd expect from a point and shoot.It now goes with me wherever I go, leaving it's bigger siblings for special occasions...

I liked the fantastic image quality thanks to a good lens and a 1" sensor and on Auto it just takes superb pictures. For people who are 'Photographers' (I'm a snapper) it offers manual settings, pre programmes and RAW. Its Video is HD but not 4k - but full HD is fine and if your that into taking videos why would you buy a small compact. This is a great pop it your pocket but takes fab pictures - I have a big Nikon DSLR but neither my wife or I want to hump it round on holiday. This is a great Camera for informal photography, Holidays, parties etc and lets you transfer your pictures via Bluetooth to your phone so you can post on social media or email to family.The only negative if you can consider it a negative is the X3 zoom, a bit more would be useful.

I bought this camera and after using it over the last couple of months I can say I'm very pleased with it (and I probably only use a small percentage of its features). The image quality is great, same for light and colour settings - I barely need to retouch any images. It's easy to navigate with the touchscreen and I find the camera easy to hold/use in general. It's so small - perfect for travelling for me. I haven't used the video options yet so can't comment on that. Ah and the connection to the phone with the Canon app works great too!!

A good camera but having paid £300 plus I expected to get a Manual I could read and studyAt 200 pages plus I am not inclined to print it off at home so I have had to buy one from a 3rd party. Not very good Canon.

Recently purchased and arrived 3 days early - excellent service from Carmarthen Cameras. The camera is really small and fits easily in your pocket. I have found the controls easy to use. Most importantly it takes excellent photos and I am looking forward to using it properly on our upcoming holidays.

Really happy with the camera. Ive been used an SLR for a few years now but wanted something small for days out and to get my boyfriend into taking pictures too. This has full manual mode which is nice. It performs well in low light, i imagine you could do pretty much most things with this that you can do with a dslr camera. I didnt like the wrist strap as i prefer neck straps so ordered a cool little leather one to keep the little vintage look going on. Really happy eith it so far. Went for a day out to Hoo Farm in Shropshire and got some cool shots which ill post. If you want a decent compact for holiday thatll last ages then its a good camera, if you want a little compact for just having a second one with your slr then its a good choice. It doesnt have the focal range of some of these super zoom ones but i tend to find with them you lose sharpness where as this remainds sharp throughout. The auto hybrid mode is a good mode for starting out on, and it makes a cool digest video of what you did before the photo is taken and compiles them from the day. Nice touch. Recommended to a friend already.

I like how this camera feels and looks, but there is no point to have such camera in mobile era. I was expecting better quality of picture, back screen, and how you manipulate with them. I would say that not much has changed about this camera after 5 years...very sadI don't suggest to purchase if you are looking for simple light camera for great picture. Better just use your phone.

This is a small reasonably lightweight camera which takes good photos. I have no complaints whatsoever with its function however I find it awkward that if you are right handed the hand strap fitting on the right of the camera is immediately next to the sd card/battery/hdmi/charger cover. Rather than damage this rather fragile cover I have put the strap on the left. Were the actual strap an inch or so longer it would stretch to my right wrist from the left side with no problem.
