Draper 20689 Young Gardener Dutch Hoe with Ash Handle

Great tool for adults as well as children. It is well-made and very sturdy. It comes with a blunt edge but the blade can be sharpened with a file, just as with a full size hoe. It has a small 4" width head, perfect for hoeing between closely-spaced plants. The short handle also makes it easy to hoe under low netting just by lifting the edge of the net with one hand while using the hoe with the other. It also stores in a small space. Exactly what I was looking for for my allotment.

This is a small version of an adult tool with a wooden handle and black painted metal tines. It is very sturdy and at first I thought it might be too heavy for our four year old grandson's birthday, but he loved it and can maanipulate it without difficulty. I think it would therefore be suitable for any child from 3 or 4 up to 10 to 12 and could even be used by a small adult or someone in a wheelchair. Children like to know they are not being 'fobbed off' with toys rather than the real thing and I would now buy any other garden tools in the same range.

I am only 5 foot 1 and decided a child version of the Hoe may be perfect. It was surprisingly smaller than expected but the hoe is very sturdy. It is solid and has worked well on my clay based soil. I have been pleasantly surprised as I thought it may be a child's toy, but no, it has become a useful garden tool.

This is so perfect for handling by myself or indeed anyone around 5 feet tall. It is a well made hoe. Smooth good quality wooden handle with strap. Hammered steel hoe easily sharpened. It is a suitable length and weight. Arrived within time scale given, well wrapped. Extremely pleased with my purchase.

Bought this rake on the recommendation of another short lady! Very pleased with it, it is much more manageable than the one I had been using. Raking up the leaves in the autumn will be much easier.

Absolutely super for people of smallish stature like me. Lightweight and far easier to wield than the full size models.

This hoe is lightweight but strong. I bought it because most hoes are too long and heavy for me and this one is just perfect for a 5’ 3” adult. It was also very good quality for the price and I am very pleased with this purchase.

I bought this junior version of a traditional garden rake for my grandson - he loves it. It is easy to use and lightweight.
