see inside Egypt
This is the third book in the collection we have bought for our 6 year old son. The others were ' Your Body ' and ' How things work' . He loved those two so when he was appearing as an Egyptian in his school play and wanted to know more about Egypt , I knew this would be a perfect book to do the job. The books are quite sturdy and the topics in this book are as follows..Market DayThe mighty NileAt the templeHow the rich liveGreat pyramidsRoyal burialEgypt in ruinsWho was whoEach topic is spread over two pages, except the last two in the list..one page. The book has over 70 flaps to lift with facts and some funny quips underneath. Very informative book with lots of detailed illustrations throughout but easy enough for a young child to understand. Our favourite is the section on pyramids which greatly explains how these amazing structures were built , a job so big my son can't get his head around it. I am very pleased with the book and actually enjoy sitting reading through it and talking about it with my son, more than I enjoy playing video games with him, which says a lot..I love video games :)These books are great and there are so many different subjects in the collection so you will be sure to find something your child is interested in. I hope to have built up quite a collection of these by the time he's older

Lovely book purchased for child aged 7 covering Egypt at school. Bite size pieces of information with lift up flaps for added interest. Great quality for the price.

Lovely book
I have found the Usborne books to be very good and this didn't disappoint. Excellent illustrations and lots of flaps to lift and discover interesting facts. Good introduction to ancient Egypt.

Has great appeal to Primary age children
Excellent book about Ancient Egypt for Primary school age children. The clear text and bright illustrations were pitched just right for my eight year-old grandson who enjoyed it so much that he kept returning to it. He learned a lot from the book and retained a good deal of what he had learned. It was a good complement to the Ancient Egypt topic being studied at school.

This is an excellent book for young children who want to learn about ancient Egypt. For those who can't read, there are plenty of flaps which reveal more information.

Really good book.
I bought this for my neighbour's son who is almost 6 years old. I have just returned from Egypt and he was very interested in my photos and the stories I told him. I saw this and decided it would be good for him. The flaps lift up easily so he can learn from them all. A little bit old for him at the moment but he loves being told what they say and learning from them.
