This new hugely upgraded Lumus Is a beast!
The media could not be loaded. I'm now on my second Reolink Lumus security camera, and the latest iteration has truly exceeded my expectations. Unbeknownst to me, I received an upgraded model, which I've come to think of as the 'Lumus V2.' This version introduces dual-band 2.4GHz/5GHz WiFi, a significant improvement over my 2021 model. The enhanced AI detection and software updates provide a remarkably expanded feature set, including an enjoyable time-lapse function.Initially, I anticipated receiving the same Lumus camera I had in 2021. However, the 'V2' is a substantial upgrade, offering a 'beast mode' level of enhancement. After struggling with numerous unreliable, generic security cameras, I've found Reolink to be a consistently reliable and feature-rich solution. Both my 2021 and 2025 Lumus cameras work flawlessly with my Home Assistant setup, my Android smartphone, and the Windows 11 application. I'm particularly impressed with the functionality and user-friendliness of the Windows app.As a genuine customer, without any affiliation or monetization, I can wholeheartedly recommend this product.Pros:Crystal-clear, high-quality images.Robust and durable build.Highly customizable settings within the app.Effortless integration with Google Home, Android, and Windows 11.Cons:I honestly cannot find any."

Great camera with really useful features
Absolutely delighted with the Lumus camera. I have been looking for a replacement system for the Y-Cam cameras I’ve been using for the past 6+ years. Y-Cam is cloud based so no local storage and their app just works. What doesn’t work is their cameras (at times) So many issues but so easy to use, I just kept putting off finding another make. Anyway I took the plunge and wow have I been putting up with some sh1t for years. The Lumus has so many useful features, I really don’t know where to start. Ok firstly, the spot light, it’s so responsive and does a good job of turning night vision into colour. The light can be set to turn on when movement is detected or just turned on and off by the user as and when. A nice feature is the user can turn off the flashing light on the front of the camera that lets people know it’s recording, it keeps them guessing which I like as people tend to look longer and harder at the camera trying to figure out if it live. When you go to live view it’s almost instant, Y-Cam would think about it for two minutes and if Y-Cam was recording something when you wanted to live view, you could forget about it. Anything the Lumus records is available to view instantly and finding recordings you want is easy. Zones are easy to set up and can be scheduled to start or stop at any time. Saving the settings / changes in the camera is also instant. The setting up on the app couldn’t be made easier, it’s child’s play. The speaker that allows you to speak to people is also amazing, I tried it with the dog who was in a different part of the house at the time and she came running right up to the camera trying to find me. Another nice feature is that you have to turn on the volume when watching recordings. This is great as I can watch them at work without anyone hearing it, I just turn the sound on when it’s necessary. The recordings are started 5 seconds before the incident occurs so the camera is always watching and you don’t miss what lead to the camera tripping and you adjust the time up to one minute for the recording to end after the action / movement stops. The Y-Cam would be tripped by movement but stop recording after 30 seconds whether the incident had ended or not, most frustrating. Not so with the Lumus, it only stops recording when movement stops and then it continues for that set period up to one minute so you miss nothing. So much more to praise this camera about but I will end by saying on top of all the aforementioned, it’s a bargain price. I have 14 Y-Cams to replace now and Reolink will be taking their place.

Great camera for the price
(Attached photos show daytime, night vision & spotlight performance)Fantastic camera... for the price.Overall quality is good, although it struggles to capture fast moving objects with high enough detail to capture things such as number plates. Footage is capped at 1080p @ 15fps, which is more than enough for capturing people and cars at short range. The integrated motion activated spotlights are surprisingly bright which is an excellent deterrent. It's worth noting that this camera can't automatically sense the difference between people and cars, and will only detect and log clips against motion - something other reolink cameras can do. The camera records before and after a motion event is detected, which ensures everything is captured correctly and you don't just see the last few seconds like other motion based cameras.Unfortunately, the camera does not support RSTP & ONVIF streams which prevents easy integration to smart home systems such as Home Assistant. However there are simple work arounds using Neolink to convert the Baichuan protocol the camera uses to an RTSP stream. I was able to get the Reolink Lumus to work with and show up in Apple's HomeKit (including HKSV) by using a mixture of Neolink & Syncrpted, all hosted within Home Assistant. It would be possible to get this camera working with most NVRs using a similar method.
