Herschel Settlement Rucksack, 23 Liter, Black

I got this to replace a much bulkier backpack. I wondered to begin with how I would get on without so much space and padding, but I've quickly grown to love this backpack and I much prefer using it day-to-day to my other one.It is very lightweight and compact, but it can still hold quite a decent amount of stuff, without the bag becoming overly heavy or uncomfortable to carry. I usually carry notebooks, a Kindle, iPad and bottle of water and there's still plenty of room, and a decent amount of protection for the breakable items.The front zipped pocket is really useful, and fits several essential items without them rattling around. It is really easy to get to what I need from this front pocket.The shoulder straps are comfortable and padded, and best of all is the quite stiff handle at the top of the bag. This is ideal for opening the main bag with one hand whilst holding it in the other with the handle. It sounds like an obvious feature to a bag like this, but my previous backpack instantly lost it's shape when I tried opening the main compartment in this way. The Herschel bag feels much more usable.It looks smart, feels like a good quality bag, and is well designed. I'd definitely recommend it.

My son's been using this as his school bag and loves it. All his books fit nicely, even on days when he there is a bookshelf's worth in his bag. It keeps its shape and feels comfortable even when loaded up.The bag itself is well made, strong and sturdy. The zipper feels strong. And I am told it's cool too.

Arrives in a plastic bag which is not very protected, and was very creased. These creases are hard to get out as the canvas material is very thick.There is only a small pouch and a central divider on the inside, I would have liked if there was a zipped pocket at the top like most backpacks.

Love this bag!!! It's stylish, strong, and even bigger than I thought so ideal for using around the city. It will also serve as my daypack when I go backpacking in Asia later in the year as it will certainly be big enough for all my important stuff!

Fantastic work bag. Fits in everything a commuter travels with, including a laptop when necessary. Comfortable and easy to use. The zips are a little rough, but at least they are strong.

The sizing of these bags are so confusing. I ordered the 46 in (whatever that means) in black. All it means is that it is the Settlement version, that comes with a 15" laptop sleeve. My laptop (Lenovo y50) is actually 15.6" but still fits in fine, even with a case. The padding of the shoulder straps are sooo comfy, making it a perfect bag to carry your laptop and other essentials for work/uni etc.
