Q: Do I need to sand it down first ?

Depends what IT is. If your overspraying paint, then it needs to be dust free - wipe over with the appropriate solvent and allow to dry first. If your spraying filler - then you need to do full prep, sanding, sealing, primer. I used on a red pearl fiberglass fairing. It did not dry the colour shown in the picture, it's much darker.

Q: Can this be used to paint motorcycle fairings?

It says on the advert that it does engine's pipes and hoses,all metal and alloys that get hot.I have asked the community for answers to the question which I will forward as soon as I get answers for you .

Q: Is this paint suitable for repainting a barbecue?

I suppose it would cover it after a good sand and undercoat,but I think it may just burn off again like the original paint.
