ordered june 2020-mine is from a batch made in romania - works great, smooth, precise, good grip & feel
Good solid machine, heavy & secure blade action..no visible wobble.I was using a borrowed cheap jig last weeks making some furniture at home..First impressions with the makita here...motor sounds quieter, much less vibration & more solid & harmonious. On the old yoke if you hold the blade and shake it side to side, there was a distinct movement "wobble", on the makita here its secure & doesn't move a millimeter. One small thing i don't quite understand, there is the little transparent plate there..i think is to avoid splintering of timber...it distinctly touches & rubs the blade on one side & i suppose while using is going to get filed down...hmm...that's not very precision built. The unit just arrived yesterday & i've been busy with no time to work more but i'll update this review once i use it for tasks. So far, thrilled & excited to use.Mine arrived with 6 blades i think..(i'll recheck that later on)Only gripe was that due to the covid situation worldwide, it took a long while to arrive plus as the tracking reached the almost arrived date, i get a message on my phone saying that there has been an issue with the delivery & its been sent back !!! wtf !!! that really got me mad & i went about and ordered it again as i needed it in some urgency..actually a week earlier and i would have already run it through a lot of good usage.Next day, delivery update & said on its way?hmm..strange times atm anyways so all is grand and acceptableOverall well pleased hereNot my first Makita tool, tried and tested now, happy with the brandCheersupdate: much use later. I LOVE IT !!!It has a powerful motor, good weight, smooth action.Yes, that plastic plate mentioned before is getting filed down due to touching the blade. Still have it attached though as its not affecting the cut in any bad way.I've combined this with a set of Bosch blades. My all time fav is the Bosch clean wood series (currently only using for timber projects).Beauty of a machine, you can know the motor is doing a good job due to the response action, vibration, movement and cut. I've managed to cut so smooth and clean, i never knew a jigsaw could cut so clean (novice here of course, more used to manual hand tools & saws & drills etc). So, i can only say good things about this Makita. Not the cheapest unit but money well spent & i reckon it will be with me for many a moon.

Very good and sturdy workhorse.
Although this is a little expensive, if you are looking for a very well built, sturdy workhorse that makes cuts a breeze, I would highly recommend this. I have only used it on wood cuts, but it makes very easy, accurate work of 6in x 4in cuts, and makes cutting formica and wooden kitchen surfaces a pleasure.

All good
Was very impressed with a Mkita circular saw I bought recently, so decided to go with the same manufactrer when my jigsaw needed replacing. Without doubt, the main the difference I noticed, compared to my old one, was the lack of blade drfft/wander when cutting out for inserts in a 38mm laminated worktop. It stays straight. I used the blade I got with the saw and covered the worktop face with masking tape for a great finish - no need for a down-cut blade. I didn't use the orbital action, as this can tend to chip the edges of the laminate, as with all jgsaws, but I tried it on a scrap piece and it flew through. The removable plastic shoe that protects the cutting surface is a good addition. The box is not as good as some other brands, but that's a small matter. It's a well made, heavy and solid saw with a no-tool blade change. Delighted.

Second one of these that I've bought
This is the second one of these that I've bought (the second was a present for a family member). Very impressive jigsaw which is why I bought the same one. This is a powerful and heavy duty power tool. Accurate cuts and easy to use...I'm a DIYer but this is easily tradesman quality. Well made but not too heavy. Useful storage case...the only downside is that the dust extraction fitting is of a very narrow diameter. You would struggle to find anything to attach it to any dust filtering system. That isn't a problem for me but something for potential purchasers to consider.

Makita is the best!
Makita is one of the... you know.So this jigsaw I took for all my woodworking projects.Very powerfull (720 watt), quite havy (2.4 Kg), fuse option (13 amper), 6 blades included in case, speed control (from 1 to 5), wood cutting up to 135mm (impressive), nice well made case, orbital option (from 0 to 3), Onboard hex wrench (for fast, accurate bevel adjustments), dust nozzle (included), led light (very usefull).Made in Romania.P.S. you can register your Makita at makitauk.com and get 3 year warranty (for free). To my mind its so cool.
