Hooper Humperdink...? Not Him! (Bright & Early Books)

It's kind of negative. I didn't like hearing my daughter repeat the words, "Hooper Humperdick, I don't like him." I bought this one after we had bought every other Dr. Seuss book. This is scraping the bottom of the barrel.

This is one of my childhood favorite books. The story is sweet and the drawings are cute. In my mind, this book is a timeless classic!

My twins love this book so much that we wore through our first copy and had to order this second one. It was in great condition and actually has brighter colors than our older copy!

When my youngest child was little she had a favorite book--Hooper Humperdink...? Not Him! We read it every night (sometimes more than once) without fail. She could not/would not go to sleep without hearing it. Every member of the family, including my older kids, knew it by heart. We thought we'd never forget it. But, alas, we did. For years we've all tried to remember not only snatches of the story...but the NAME of the book. We've talked about it parties, wondered over it at family gatherings and reminisced during holidays but no one could ever remember the name of the book. My daughter often became misty-eyed with melancholy over the issue. You see, she now has a child of her own wanted desperately to share with him her childhood memories.It took a while--lots of research, many sleepless night perusing online book sellers websites and a couple of hissy fits on my part--before I finally came across a book cover that looked familiar. A peek inside was all it took to know for sure I had finally found my daughter's book. I bought it immediately!It's all wrapped up and hidden away for to open on Christmas day. I'm very excited about this find--for sentimental reasons. But, also, because the book is precious. It's a cute story with a surprise ending. Your kids will love it as much as mine!

My daughter loved this book. Ordered it for a friend who had a baby shower and had everyone bring their favorite book with an inscription on the first page .

I don't care what anybody says, Hooper Humperdink is the BEST out of all the Dr. Seuss books. Hands down. I don't like, however, the new graphics.

This was my children's favorite book back in the 70's and it was read so many times that it got quite beat up. Years later I went looking for it, hoping to give it as a gift, but found that it was out of print. So, I was absolutely thrilled when the book was re-introduced just in time for my first grandchild. The cover and the inside artwork has changed (even better than the old one). But the text is exactly as we remember it, with all the rhyming names of kids that are going to be invited to a big party. Of course, the host does not intend to invite Hooper Humperdink because he doesn't like him. By the end of the book he realizes that it would be unkind to exclude anyone. It really does teach children a wonderful lesson about being generous and not excluding anyone. I am so happy to be able to read this delightful book again.

A brilliant much loved book from my childhood. Follows a child's plans for his birthday party and everyone that he's going to invite, everyone that is except for Hooper Humperdink.

Great condition. bought this for my mum when she mentioned loving it as a child. Such a sweet story.

This was my son's favorite book as a child. We spent many hours memorizing it.My son has since passed away and I bought this book to share with my grandson.
