I'm an old longjohns guy–you know, the waffle pattern kind? But base layer garments have come a long way since then, and I thought I should try something new. Base layers vary A LOT in price depending on what you plan to use them for (mountaineering, sports, etc.). I just wanted something that was soft and comfortable and would keep me warm in cold, windy, wet weather. I ordered these more than a year ago and I just ordered another set. They are very thin, so they fit easily underneath pants, sweaters, etc. and they are very soft and durable. You won't be sorry if you buy them.

I love the feel of these base layers; they're warm, soft, stretch well and the elastic doesn't pinch at all. I wore these on a recent backpacking trip where the temp dropped to freezing one night. I was nice and cozy in just these thermals and my sleeping back, and didn't feel any chill on my skin. However, the neck line on the shirt is quite low, at least for the warmest 3-layer version of these base layers. I would have preferred a higher neckline, or even a mock turtle-neck, as that is a major area the body loses heat from. I believe that a higher neckline would make these thermals even more effective.

This product fits skin-tight , yet is soft and comfortable. I live in a very cold area of the country and wear long underwear most of the winter. These are the perfect choice for my lifestyle. Nice value and quality. Buy one of every color. So soft and warm. Thin enough to wear under regular clothes as well.

I look forward to wearing these. The fabric is soft and stretchy, smoother on the patterned outside and warmer feeling on the interior. The tag was designed to be snipped and easily torn off at the base reducing skin irritation, and there is an extra little steam on the collar which can indicate which side is front and back. Smart design. Great pattern. Comfortable as pajamas and tough enough to be worn out and about as under-armor. These are such a favorite of mine that I am buying a pair for my father. Dressing up dear ole dad! HA!
