Nice
Installed on my 79 F150 fuel lines from fuel pump to regulator, and regulator to carb due to vapor lock. It did help, but not completely. This ethanol gas boils at lower temps, so I will be adding a return line. Overall, very impressed with the quality and workability of this. Cuts with scissors and installs easily. No gaps as with other types, and I used metal wire ties at the ends. Looks good and performs good.

Using this to cover my fuel line on my Datsun and seems to be working or helping keep the line cool to prevent vapor lock

Vapor Lock Finally Eliminated!
I've always had bad vapor lock on my '64 Mercury Comet Caliente and decided not to put up with it any longer. Concluding it was from gas vaporizing in the steel fuel line on top of my engine when it gets hot, I bought this Ummickl Fire Sleeve to slip on it. My fuel line is 5/16" I.D., so I bought the 1/2" diameter sleeve. The one I bought was plenty long enough for my purposes. Seeing that the new sleeve stretches a little, I removed my fuel line and cut the insulating sleeve a little longer than necessary, knowing I could always cut a little more off (it's easy to cut). I slipped it over one fuel line attaching nut and slid it down to the other. In my situation I needed nothing to hold it in place as one long section of tube covered the entire line and I put the fuel line back on the engine.I drove it around on a hot day and noticed right away it idles well now while waiting at stoplights. I bought fast-food and parked it with the engine off for 10-15 minutes...ideal conditions for vapor lock. Before, I'd have to hold the gas pedal to the floor while restarting it. Now, it restarts right away with my foot off the pedal. I did the same thing at the gas station...and it started right away. This stuff works great! It's simple to put on if you have easy access to removing your fuel line. And as I said, it's easy to cut-to-length.I highly recommend this!

To prevent vapor lock on an old automobile.
My "toy" is a 1984 Toyota LandCruiser. I had the engine compartment opened up to replace all of the coolant hoses and decided to also replace the 40 year old fuel pump. The original heat shielding had become very hard over the years. I ordered a length of this and have insulated all of the fuel lines (tank supply, tank return, carb supply) in the engine compartment.

Good Heat Shield
Good heat shield that works great. Keeps my fuel line cooler so my fuel doesn't turn to vapor.
