Had to change out transmission lines on chevy this tool got it done quick

Pretty good quality.I wanted to put SS brake hoses on my sports car. The front hoses were my problem. I had to disconnect the hard brake line from the brake hose that originally came with the car. Problem was that with a normal line wrench I could only move the threaded nut on the hard line a very small amount due to the little room I could move the wrench (see photo). I could not get a second bite to loosen the nut further. What made it worse was the hard line nut was on the back side of the bracket & I could not see the nut. You can't use a open ended wrench like on the right end of the ratcheting wrench. The hex part of the hard line nut is very thin, screw it up using a open end wrench & you have to replace the hard line & the buggered up nut, not what you want to do!.This ratcheting wrench saved the day!

One star down for now coarse the ratcheting mechanism is, but 4 for how time saving these things are.I don't think I'd trust them to bust anything loose, so I crack them with my SO then use this for the tedious removal process and vise versa...get them snug with these then final tighten with the SO.They're especially handy when you don't have much space to re-engage the fixed 6 point.In an open engine bay I'd probably consider these less useful, but I have a specific use case where there's a hose on one side and the frame rail on the other, preventing much rotation.The downside to the ratcheting line wrench is you have to line the openings back up to get it off when you're installing.

Very handy for 15bucks. But not for everyone and every application.Be careful of the point on the "C" shaped outer retaining ring catching on the mating surface as your tightening a nut. This can gouge, catch and then shatter the retaining clip piece. I took mine to a grinding/polishing wheel and rounded them over a bit as the first one i owned of this type of wrench broke that way.Probably not good for the initial breaking of a stubborn nut. The ratcheting action suffers a little bit as it loosens, but thats not unexpected for a ratchet.

I used the wrench to loosen power steering line and it broke in less than 5 minutes. Better off to take your 20$ and light it on fire these wrenches are a pos.

I'm changing my brake lines in my truck. The lines for the abs are in a real tight spot. This racheting wrench made the job so easy. It heavy well made with the swivel head can get to any spot.

I'm a cable guy. This works great as a replacement for 7/16. The opening for the ratcheting end fits around the cable and you are able to remove fittings. Even fits on 8 port taps and 4 way splitters. Wish the markings on the ratchet end were clearer, also doesn't ratchet at weird angles sometimes.

This tool saved me $500 in dealer repair costs. Could not have removed and installed the power steering hose flare nut on the underside of my SUV without it. There was absolutely no access with any other tool. Fantastic product.

Saved me literal hours on a transmission line job, very handy !!

I'm an auto mechanic and do all my brake lines with this wrench. Worth every penny especially when the line end is in a tough spot.
