So easy to make homemade ice cream now!
We've been eating a lot of ice cream recently (store bought) and every summer I think about getting an ice cream machine. But in my past research it always seemed to involve a bunch of prep like putting a container in the freezer the day before, or having to buy ice or other steps that seemed to make it just too much of a hassle.I read up on a bunch of the newer machines that have less of those steps and decided to take a chance on this Haimmy unit. I'm so glad I did!Amazon shipped it same day (cue scrambling to have ingredients to try it immediately!) - as you can see from the box shots, it's nicely packaged and pretty much shows how the process is simple from the basic diagrams on the outside. No pre-freezing bowls or anything, the main trick is simply to have chilled any mixture before you drop it in, then hit soft or hard button and it does the rest!It came well packaged, with short quick start style instructions and a simple recipe booklet. Also has some plastic accessories (it's important not to use any metal utensils which can scratch the surfaces).I had some existing silicon spatulas and measuring cups so didn't have to use the ones included so far but they look good quality (for plastic). We plugged in and were up and running in seconds. First we tried the banana frozen yogurt recipe from the booklet as that's what we had ingredients for, to hand. Mashed banana into some plain yogurt we had, sugar and heavy cream (whipping cream). That was it! Chilled in the fridge for 5mins since the banana wasn't cold initially, but then put the mixture into the unit, and about an hour and a bit later the mixing paddle that was churning the mix stopped moving and we knew the frozen yogurt was done.Opened up, scooped out into a bowl and we had about 4-5 individual portions' (or 2-3 for what we actually eat!) worth. While you can't remove the actual 'bowl' it was easy enough to wipe down with some wet paper towels to clean. The power cord is detachable btw which was convenient for storage afterwards.Next (couple days later after getting some more ingredients) we tried mango ice cream. Pretty much as easy as before, we had some frozen mango chunks we usually use for smoothies, let it thaw and mashed it, then mixed with cream, whole milk and powdered sugar. Simply mixed together, chilled for about 5mins in the fridge, poured in and hit go (hard button again) and this time it was about 85 mins.So not instant, but basically fresh ice cream you made yourself in an hour and a half! We're going to try some lime sorbet next and then try chocolate ice cream after that. (Little more complex prep to the mixture with an egg and syrup per the receipt booklet, though might just find one on the web instead. Wanted to get used to the unit before trying that.)The fact you just pour a chilled mixture in and hit a button, no other prep or items needed (or manual labor) is just amazing to me, you really can make fluffy, creamy, actually cold ice cream at home super easily. One other thing to note - sound level. It's actually quieter than I thought. I'd read reviews of other units where it said you couldn't be in the room or maybe not even in the next room! This unit is quiet enough you can be next to it and not be too bothered. It is maybe the level of a blender or mixer on very lowest/slowest stirring setting.I'm so glad we bought this, we're already dreaming up all sorts of recipes to try. Organic ingredients, fresh fruits, etc. Do some soft serve as well. Possibilities are endless (Google ice cream recipes for a ton of exotic options) - most of the effort is actually in getting ingredients at the store (we usually have whole milk, cream, sugar and yogurt at home so the base is always available, throwing in fruit or berries, etc. means we can always whip something up). Can't recommend this more highly, it was so much easier and provided much better results than I'd have imagined possible. (Given my level of kitchen skills.)Only downside is constantly running over to check progress while you wait to get to eat the ice cream. It looks so good while being churned in the machine is very tempting to stop it early!

Easy to assemble and make!
This ice cream machine comes with more than I had expected! They have a scooper, measuring cups, and a spatula so you don’t need to worry not having enough equipment. There is also a recipe book with different ice cream flavors, and includes flavors like matcha and mango which you usually can’t find at the grocery store. After putting in the ingredients, it’s all hands off! All you need to do is to press your mode, hard or soft ice cream and wait until the machine beeps, indicating that it is ready. Cleaning is super easy and is not messy to make with! Would recommend to buy as birthday gift, etc.!

Piece of junk
This product was a huge disappointment. The picture looks great, but the actual product looks like a miniature ice cream maker. The mixing cup only makes 1 serving at a time, it is so tiny. Didn't even try the product. The box was all banged up and had apparently been returned several times, as evidenced by all the partial labels that had been ripped off. Obviously, other customers that purchased the item, were extremely dissatisfied as well, and sent it back. Don't waste your time. The price for this piece of junk was absolutely ridiculous. Much cheaper just to buy ice cream already made.

Easy to clean small size and light weight, great ice cream.
The ice cream maker is great. The seller wrote to me and asked me what I thought about it. I said it was great but the top was loose and as long as I kept a weight on it there was no problem. The seller said he would send me a new one. Great service. I would recommend it highly. Just something I learned that if you add some cornstarch to the mix it makes a smooth gelato. You have to cook the cornstarch in the mix to simmer temperature and cool it before putting it in the ice cream maker. It is a Sicilian recipe instead of using an egg. 1 teaspoon is all that is needed. It is small and light weight and easy to store. It is also easy to clean. It takes about one hour to make ice cream.
