An amazing tool
I own multiple Makita cordless tools. They are all excellent.I bought this impact wrench to help me remove a rear brake rotor which was stuck on my 2009 Toyota Rav4. (150,000 miles. I am the original owner. It's the original rotor - I am a very gentle driver.)I tried the usual hammering, and the jacking bolts (8 mm x 1.25, if you are interested). No luck.So I bought an OEM puller,https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08TKVDS41?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_detailsMy Rav4 is parked in my yard, 150 feet from my house.I already own an Ingersoll-Rand pneumatic impact wrench, which is great. I have a nice compressor installed in my garage. But I was not enthusiastic about finding 150 feet of air hose, and then hauling it out to the Rav4, to hammer off the rotor on my Rav4. And then rolling up the hose and storing it for later use.So I bought used this Makita impact wrench to power the OEM puller. After 15 seconds, the rotor was knocked free.I was very impressed.Thank you, Mr. Makita.

This is power packed
Purchased this because I have the Makita platform and I needed a 1/2 impact wrench for multiple tasks, one being removing stubborn rusted bolts on my vehicle while doing a suspension lift and upgrade. Positives, this is a power packed impact capable of removing some large stubborn bolts. There is very little vibration while using it. The lights is a great feature and functional. Negatives, it's heavy and with repeated use you will need to take breaks in between. Because of the weight, I found myself accidentally hitting the drive button while trying to remove a nuts while laying on back, I don't have this problem with my drills and smaller impact tools, just this one due to the weight and working in awkward positions. Overall this gets the job done and I no longer use my pneumatic impact tools. I would buy again but future redesigns should focus on weight, hence I give it 4 stars.

Something maybe wrong with the one I was sent
It cuts out like there's a loose wire other than that it is good I love it plenty of power I have had the issue with loss of power since the first use I have only used it 3 times every time I used it I have a loss of power

What's wrong with this picture?
OK, I've been a loyal Makita customer for over 20 years. My woodshop has an entire wall of Makita corded and cordless tools. Tools from the early 80s to the present. I've never had a problem with anything wearing their teal colors. So I'm willing to let this one experience slide as I needed to put this tool to work as soon as it arrived (no time to dilly-dally with a return). And it only took a minute to run the Allen head screw in. But seriously Makita, get your QA guys on their game! This is unacceptable for a multi-hundred dollar tool. I have a similar impact in red and white....that needed no such "customer assembly". Has me questioning if I'm going to continue investing money in this platform or switch teams.

High torque, a bit heavy but excellent build quality!
Okay I’m the late comer, and joining all you happy owners. Got this yesterday for early Xmas present. It’s gigantic, see picture with the Vaseline bottle as reference. Haven’t tried it out yet but I believe it will do what it’s designed for. I knew about the wriggling rubber bottom that holds the battery, as designed and not a defect so no worries there. This wrench is really solid and looked like it’ll last until I hand down to my kids. The unit came brand new, not a bad thing found as it coming out of the box. Glad I’m owing one now. You should be confident and just get one and not dreaming anymore. Loving it. 5 star already.

Much better than pneumastic
I'm using this mostly for assembling pallets made from pressure treated 2x6 and 4x4. Driving 3/8"x4" bolts through the wood takes about 2 seconds, whereas my old pneumatic with similar torque ratings was more like fifteen. No more waiting for air pressure to build up after a few bolts, and much faster.Pros; High torque Fast Quick recharge Cordless Easy forward/reverse switching Variable speed (smooth)Cons:Heavy Power setting located in awkward spot
