This attractive desk has plenty of storage. A sturdy and handsome desk. Easy instructions. Build took around 4 hours. Bought two matching desks for office remodel. Unfortunately, one had slight damage to the tabletop during shipping, but I kept it anyway. (Copic marker "E44" is a good match for dings, FYI).

Item came on time and was not damaged. Item looked just like displayed picture in description. Quality parts, heavy desk, looks like barn wood.Only downside is 8-10 hours assembly time. If you take the time and follow directions concisely, it is worth the wait!

First, the high points: for the price, this isn’t a bad deal. It’s sturdy - over 100lbs. It was the perfect size for my office, being slightly shorter at 53” long by approx 23” deep.I like that it has a wide drawer under the desk surface - instead of just a keyboard shelf. It’s also got the two drawers on the side, one of which is deep enough for file folders. It comes with the file hanging edges too.The design is pleasing and the cost is affordable.Many reviewers had a lot to say about how difficult it was to assemble. It was not a piece of cake, but with 2 of us working on it, and making sure we read the directions closely, we got it out together in less than 2 hours. One piece was mis-labeled, and many others had either no label or a hard to find label. Patience is the key. All the holes for screws were pre-drilled and in the right place. The packet of screws was well packaged and labeled.The finished product turned out to be one I’m “happy enough” with.The less fantastic: The finish is the cherry paper laminate which isn’t the best quality. The front of the desk and two of the legs arrived already scraped up, and showing signs of wear that I’d expect over time, but not upon arrival right out of the box.And the two drawers on the side don’t fit together correctly, at least on mine. When you pull the lower drawer out, the upper drawer shifts downward and the lower drawer can’t be pushed back in without the top drawer being lifted up.This may not happen with every desk and also may vary based on who is assembling it.The bottom of the drawers is, as many have said, very flimsy. - especially the side drawers. You’re not going to want to put anything heavy in the drawers. They’re fine for file folders, but don’t expect them to hold up with anything with any heft to it.Overall, as long as you’re not expecting top notch high quality, this should be a fine purchase to accomplish what you need. It’s got a decent surface and storage space and will get the job done.

The box was well packaged but the top was damaged. Sauder sent a replacement that was well packaged. Easy to assembly, took almost 5 hours, love the color!

This looks very nice in the room. I don't believe that it will hold up to multiple moves but not any worse than other particle board constructed furniture. The assembly was very straight forward and was pretty well laid out in the instructions. There are also QR codes to YouTube videos that are hosted on their site (sauder.com). The complaint here is that the QR code takes you to a site that is not https so it is flagged as unsafe, this should be easy to resolve by Sauder and absolutely should be fixed. The fitment of the hardware and the materials was on target with only a couple of areas that could have been just a bit better for tolerances or alignment. One issue was that part 'Y' (one of the legs) in step 3 didn't have a decal and I didn't see it in the box indicating that it wasn't there to start with. Some of the part numbers are stamped and others have stickers. In this case the other legs all had stickers and 'Y' was not marked with either method. Process of elimination allowed me to find it but had another not been marked it would have taken some research into the parts pre drilled holes to determine this part. Step 10 has you install part 'Z' which shows the finish surface on one side but the end has a finished and unfinished surface. I took the time to ensure that it was oriented finished end toward the front but it appeared it may screw in either way. Also incorrect orientation would likely end up with the drawer rail being incorrectly aligned. Step 19 has 4 sub steps and in sub step 1 there is a not telling you which hardware and the number used (very nice addition throughout) but I took a double take. It indicated 10 used in this step, meaning in step 19 not the sub step, which only uses 5. Not a big deal but could easily be improved by stating 10 used in step 19 to be much more clear. None of these missing instruction improvements would prevent a person who is paying attention from assembly it would just make it that much clearer. The drawer slides have a slot for the front screw allowing for slight vertical adjustment to square the drawers up after installation and I find that to be a nice touch. If you have ever put together this style of furniture without that you are limited in aligning the drawers to one another or with the frame of the desk. A nice touch is the recess in the desktop that supports their Qi charger (Item 425905) over the drawer section so you could just set your wireless charge capable device over the target sticker (that comes with item 425905) to charge. I was unaware of this in their listing on Amazon as it didn't mention it and should be added (it is mentioned in the listing on the Sauder website). There are book shelves, dressers, a lateral file, and even an armoire available that are in the Carson Forge style for complimentary looking furniture. Overall a great product and assembly experience.

Well I am 70 yrs old and the package was quite heavy but I assembled this all by myself. Directions were clear and understandable. All parts arrived as they shouild. It took about 3 hours for assembly and I did use a powered hand drill to do all the screws. Drawers work smoothly but took just a little time to align them properly so they dont hit each other when you open and close them. I do love it! Perfect for my office area.

Very strong desk! Heavy! It does take a while to put together and there were a few tiny chips on the top of the desk. Not crazy about the finish either because it looks a little fake but overall it’s nice. It’s pretty thick would and not difficult to assemble, just takes some time.

IMPRESSED. For furniture piece that fits in an 8 inch thick box I couldn't be happier with it. I usually make my own furniture but sometimes I buy pieces like this and this is the best brand for furniture in a box. This desk could actually be moved from one house to the next and not fall apart during the move. The instructions were awesome. Actually written by a person who speaks English and has assembled it enough times so they included the right details so you can put it together right the first time. Assume this will take a while to put together. Assume at a relaxed pace 3 to 4 hours for the first one. If you are quite proficient, 2 hours.As to the look of the desk, it looks great. As to the function of the drawers, great and adjustable. But they do require tuning so everything works and fits together smoothly.Shipping with prime, 2 days.

This is a sturdy, nice appearing desk if properly assembled. It is heavy and takes many hours to assemble even if you are experienced with similar items. The directions could be better, though all of the information you need is there if you search for it.

I use it for my many administrative needs that are a normal part of home life. I am a very good handyman and have constructed many things in my day including building a house. This was a good product to assemble but one needed to pay very careful attention to the assembly. It was somewhat tricky in parts. Dont tackle it unless you are very good with tools.

Yes you do need to put everything together but very straight forward , and once completed very study product which looks great . Just allow time for order to arrive - mine was late but came eventually - probably due the times we are in with all deliveries arriving late. Worth the wait.
