updated review, still useful can turn the light off! both feet broken..
Updated Review:Sep. 2, 21'The first two months where great! i had no issues at all, until one night i was laying down in bed as i often do being disabled, i often use this device laying flat on my back as i have sciatic nerve damage and cant do much else. it didn't matter how gentle i was with it, evidently both legs where the plastic piece locks into place to keep the system elevated, both had stress fractures i didnt realize until one leg just fell off into my hand as i went to adjust the level of the stand. and last night, the other leg, that locking plastic piece fell off into my hand as i graced it and i was a bit disheveled for the rest of the night over it unfortunately, bc i have no other way to fully view my laptop unless it is in an elevated position!i then contacted Amzn CS who of course, couldnt do anything for me bc it takes longer than 30 days for a product to show its defects sometimes, and they then suggested what i had already done, which is contact the manufacture. the manufacture is a genuinely kind individual(or group of people) who took care of my issue with my product promptly. i never approached worrying about the money, bc the most valuable thing to me is this stand and im very appreciate that the seller made things right with me, without any fuss or added stress.i can still sit the stand stationary to a desk, but for me personally not having the main feature of the stand makes it completely useless for my needs. so if you are mainly buying this stand for the specific feature of that it elevates so you do not have to crane your neck forward in bed to type while laying down, you cannot otherwise amend this issue one those two plastic bits fall apart or shove anything back there to keep it up bc of the weight of your laptop working against a downhill slope. i hope this information helps someone make an informed decision<3i do highly suggest the product which is now my replacement from this seller, as they have top priority CS if anything goes wrong with your product or it breaks for any reason, their products have a 1 year warranty and in my case, saves me a lot of heartache. i suggest this stand, as it has a metal rod that sits into the base instead of plastic. they are:Asin: B091B34YYW and B08V5FJQV9. the V9 color is my replacement, and i highly suggest this bc of its more sturdy metal settings, as apposed to plastic ones.Original Review:May 3, 21'so i was specifically looking for a fan i could turn the light off of so it wouldn't drain my laptop battery(which is does, if left on & unplugged.), or that would make it hot when i was already demanding my cpu's attention with the sims 4πnot only does it have an easy access button for the light, it gives you back your usb outlet it takes up by supplying one right next to where you plug the power cord into. these are all very conveniently placed on the back of the unit, in the middle and out of my way.it also has a very nice sturdy braided usb cord, instead of those sharp exposed metal ones with some cheaper fans that stick out of the port on the side of your system to try and serve the same purpose, but all they do is shock you and take good pieces of your arm out at the same time. this one simply is a plug in, and plugs all the way in and im very happy with the quality of the ports and cord provided.its long enough to comfortably plug in to the side of my laptop, but not so long as it gets in my way, or so short that it creates tension on your ports which is something you never want to do! bc replacing those buggers involves sottering(soldering) to the motherboard, which is both dangerous af, and something that not a lot of people know how to do right at all:)i was also being plain picky at this point, and wanted a fan that had a protective bottom plate! i am constantly readjusting from a sitting to laying position, and ive had a fan before that didnt have a protective bottom, and ive cut my fingers pretty bad on the fan blades before with older cheaper models that didnt have that panel on the bottom. i no longer have that worry with this fan, it feels worth my money. i choose to spend a few extra bucks to get a fan that was finally of a good enough quality to last me a while, wouldnt short out on me, and something i could adjust the height of depending on if i was laying on my back, or sitting. im also blind and like the screen right in my face! so the very nice adjustable legs you fold out and sit sturdily in their multiple setting slots, really is a plus for me and its something i was looking for.i have a 14.1" gateway laptop and it fits absolutely perfect with my system. i wouldnt suggest anything over 14.5" as you would pass over the sides of the frame, if thats something that bothers you. there is a little plate attached to the bottom of the fan that you can pull out like a little battery compartment! but its not for batteries, and this one took me a few minutes to put together. there is a small slot on the front of this fan base where you can push this little plate down into (grip side in towards your laptop, larger dip in the middle faces up.) it only goes in one way, and it holds the laptop up onto the fan if its set into an elevated position, such as with me laying on my back.im pretty sure this isnt going to come sliding down into my face now bc of this little very needed feature lol. its not meant for thumb drive storage which is a downer it only holds the plate, but im using the stopper plate so i dont care anyway, and it doesnt get into my way at all. idk anyone who smashes their arms together to type anyway. i can even use my trax pad properly if i ever needed to. its not heavy for me at all. in fact, my laptop is heaving heavy compared to this unit and i can lift it with my weak frail arms with no problems.ive actually used the supplied box as the base to put the fan on and it all works out for me very well, and i now have the perfect gaming set up. something to keep my game from stalling due to internal temperature issues. would replace with the same unit, high recommended for gaming systems! thank you:3the item itself gets 2 stars from me, my experience with the seller remains a 5, and they stayed in contact with me until my replacement was taken care of. <3

It does it's job, with a little noise
I've used this product for roughly a year now and it does it's job and provides airflow to my laptop. However, considering it is still a fan, it of course makes a decent amount of noise which should be expected. I would like to add that I do appreciate the fact it has legs that can adjust the height of the product.

Beautiful, nice cooling fan
Although my new notebook doesn't get hot, I bought this super cute fan to keep it running smoothly. I absolutely love this fan! You can turn it low to high and even set high, it's VERY quiet. The only complain I have about the lights are I wish they rotated or changed like the fan I ordered before this one ( that fan was broken, had to take refund, and bought this one in exchange) As you can see the colors are bright and beautiful, but they only have one setting. I'd recommend if you care more for the fan than the lights.

Couldn't ask more from a budget laptop fan
First off, I paid $20 for this. Not a bad price at all. I got the rainbow light version, so the lights don't move. I know there is a cooler option where they move. Out of the box it looked a tad used, either someone lightly used it and returned it or it just didn't ship easy. Either way it isn't a huge problem, just a couple of minor scuffs and stuff like that. The instructions are adequate, but it took me a little bit to set it up. It feels on the cheaper side overall, like a angry toddler could rip it apart in 3 seconds. It is extremely lightweight, and it is surprisingly quiet. It does look sleek and nice, and the colors are bright. I keep the fan on high speed and it definitely does cool the immediate surroundings, and it has helped my laptops heating levels. Overall it's an average product made of plastic. For $20, i think it will do an amazing job. I am happy with the overall balance of how many things this cooler seems to do well. If you are shopping on a budget I would HIGHLY recommend this.

Terrible Noise coming from the motor * Replacement is quiet!
Edit:I ended up getting a replacement and it's been amazing! The noise was definitely something from the motor because I wasn't able to even tell if it was on. I forgot about it when I went to sleep. My thermals are low, around 85C when playing FarCry NewDawn on my asus g14 It used to run around 90~100C, so definitely some improvement. I would recommend it, just hope you don't get one with a bad motor noise. When I opened this cooling pad, I liked it. It feels sturdy and well made. It is made out of plastic but it's mainly from the bottom the actual grill is some sort of metal. The lights are cool, not too bright or too dim.Anyways, for what it is meant it is quite good. I used it with my gaming laptop and it brought down the temperatures from 90 to 85. I mainly just bought it for the stand as I don't have an external monitor.Cons:The one thing that is a no buy for me is that the motor has a loud noise. As if the motor is not spinning correctly thus moving side to side. It's pretty loud and it gets annoying after a while. I played games with headphones on so it's not noticeable but for a movie or browsing it is obnoxious. For what it is, it should't have this type of noise. That's the thing the fan itself is much quieter. The motor makes this noise even when it's spinning up.I wouldn't recommend this product just for that.

Does The Job
Have been testing the laptop cooling pad and watching temp levels while playing demanding games. I was more focused on purchasing it due to having my laptop flat on a surface (laptop i use props itself up from the back). I was skeptical due to the placement of my fans being on the side of my laptop vs. underneath, however i noticed the temp drop around 2-5 degrees.Pros. Quiet, Not to Bulky, RGB Colors are bright, Choice to have it raised lower, or higherCons. No RGB options, only one mode which is basically "static" with the rainbow colors.Overall, id buy again if needed, the RGB options are not a deal breaker.

Awesome purchase! Would recommend!
Man I love this product! It looks true to the picture and is super easy to use! Fits my computer perfectly AND it literally shipped and delivered in less than 24h. Plugged the fan in and blows strong cold air, just like it needs to! Is also pretty study as it will be used for a gaming laptop! Cannot recommend this product/company enough! Love this purchase!

Fun fan
Super quiet fan, only used for 2, 12 hour shifts but it does the job my work laptop isn't getting warm anymore. The lights are fun and the reason it caught my eye. Fits in my lappy bag with laptop. Can adjust height as well.
