Diestler better
Buy Diestler's book on Becoming a Critical Thinker: A User Friendly Guide. Her old sixth edition was very good, but is now outdated. Don't confuse Ruggiero with Diestler. He's more of an ideologue trafficking in her good name. I'm looking into the Pearson 7th Edition of Diestler's book as a better alternative, that is if students can afford the package with the online resources.

Not a legitimate book on critical thinking. The author is a right wing conservative that is promoting his ideology. If the book possesses any value at all, it could be used as a case study on propaganda. Real critical thinking is a logical process for evaluating an argument. This fails completely. Sadly students are being robbed of over $100 for this fraud. They will not learn critical thinking unless their instructor abandons the text and has the knowledge to teach the subject.
