Exactly what my dog needed!
Recommended For:Owners whose dogs love to pull. For owners whose dogs are willing to endure pain by pulling, this gentle discomfort on the chest is keyWhy It Won't Work For Some:Freedom Harness directions say: You must accompany the harness with a basic training technique (below). Owners who are willing to spend half an hour for a few days training their dog will get a great result of walking with ease. Without the training, your dog won't understand as easily and you won't be as likely to find success. Those who don't read in the harness' directions to follow this technique don't find success with the harness.Basic Training Technique:You need to firmly dig your feet into the ground and stop when your dog is pulling too hard. This way, the dog realizes that pulling won't get them anywhere, and the harness makes it hard to pull anyways. Once your dog stops pulling and looks at you, you can reward them by walking again. This really gets through their heads that pulling isn't worth it! Pulling won't bring them closer to their next adventure! The harness the above technique way easier to do because they can't pull hard for long in this harness. With training AND the harness, your dog will DECIDE to stop pulling. My Previous Attempts:My siberian husky mix lives to run and pull. If I walk her on her collar, she'll pull so hard, she'll nearly choke herself. When I try to stop her from moving to discourage pulling, she'll slip her collar. If I walk her on a regular harness (attaching in the back, non-constrictive), she'll pull with even more force because she can put her whole body into it, and I find it almost impossible to stop her. When I use a front-attaching harness, she pulls so much that it twists to the side, which hurts her front leg and still doesn't keep her from pulling. A head harness makes her uncomfortable, but it doesn't stop her from pulling until it twists around and digs into her snout and eye. A sound and shock collar based on pulling (SimpleLEASH) worked very well at correcting her behavior at the right times and discouraging pulling, but I was looking for something that would be less touchy, less scary to my dog, and more suited towards walking two dogs.My Experience:On our first walk with the freedom harness, she still pulled much too hard for herself in the beginning. Her pulling tightened the martingale loop, and she needed to slow down to catch her breath. She couldn't pull as much because when she did, she couldn't catch her breath. But I followed the recommended training technique that accompanies this harness: when she pulls too hard, stop; when she looks into your eyes, go. (Freedom harness makes stopping the dog MUCH easier!)This harness together with this training technique helped my dog decide that pulling hard wouldn't get her where she wanted to go, but pulling gently and focusing on me would let her go all around the neighborhood. This only took 30 minutes on our first walk. The harness does make a difference because we implemented similar training for years with no success. This harness gives her a little discomfort that she needs to have when pulling too hard, so she takes it down a few notches.SUMMARY:Best harness I've used for walksMartingale loop keeps dogs from catching their breath when pullingVelvet layer keeps the constricted harness a small discomfort instead of pain by protecting their chestFreedom Harness with simple training works wonders!

freedom harness
the freedom harness works well for walking large pulling dogs. We use them on 2 pitbulls at our local shelter and now we can take them for walks without being dragged as most of our volunteers are retirees this works wonders for us. Just make sure to fit it properly.

This harness works the best out of all of those that I have tried
I've used an ezwalk harness, a gentle leader and a halti. This harness works the best out of all of those that I have tried. She is 70lbs, great pry/border collie mix. She pulls like crazy, and this harness has amazed me. I'm using it with the included training leash right now and she actually responds better to the back leash, where it gently tightens when she pulls. She responds great to this, and I don't feel as awful as I do with the head harness on. I feel that this is teaching her to walk much better then the head halters, too. Overall I was skeptical because she didn't respond at all the the ezwalk - she would just pull until it was sat nearly on her shoulder and continue on that way! Having both options of the front-clip and back-clip means I can disallow that from happening. She seems to be between sizes, though, as she has a really narrow shoulder area compared to her chest. I've got her in the Large as small as it can be adjusted, but she could probably fit in the Medium as loose as it could be adjusted. With all harnesses, I like to add an extra layer of safety - I put on her regular flat collar as well, and I clip that to the harness with a carabiner. This way, if she were to back out of the harness some way (she has before in the ezwalk!), she is still attached to me with the carabiner. I HIGHLY recommend doing this, no matter if you think your pup will escape or not! It's just a nice peace of mind.

If your dog is a big puller, this probably won't work for you
My large puppy (6 months old, 60 pounds) is a big puller. This is the 4th dog harness I've tried on my dog to get him to stop pulling. In short, it didn't work. I tried using this harness daily over the course of about a month. This harness still allowed him to pull and the leash isn't padded so it cut into my hands, and it really hurt! I wanted to like it because of the versatility of where I could clip the leash, and it got pretty good reviews. It just really didn't work for us. Walking my dog on this leash made it a horrible experience. The harness is designed with 2 different places to clip the leash, either independently or together. It also comes with a leash that can attach on each end to the harness and a handle that can slide up and down the length of the leash. The leash is not adjustable but there is some versatility in the leash depending on how and where you clip the two ends of the leash. The harness is adjustable across the chest, under the chest and behind the front legs. The front clip of the harness, when used independently, is supposed to turn the dog around to face you when they pull due to where the leash is clipped. The back part of the harness, when used independently, cinches or tightens when the dog pulls and makes it uncomfortable for them to walk. When you use the front and back clips together it is supposed to combine theses results together.First, I tried using the front and back clips together by attaching each end of the leash to each clip. The major downside to this is that it now gave two points of attachment for the leash which gave him twice the pulling power. It didn't turn him around or cinch so it was like walking him on a regular harness which he could now pull a lot harder. I even tried stopping and waiting when he pulled like the instructions suggest to teach your dog that if they pull, you don't walk. We ended up standing there staring at each other for long periods of time not really going anywhere and then as soon as we started walking again, he started pulling. That method didn't work and was really frustrating for the both of us.Then I decided using to try using just the front clip. At first, it turned him around to face me when he pulled. However, he quickly learned to walk sideways and still pulled me. The leash was also an awkward length when I tried clipping it at the front. Then tried using only the back clip which is supposed to cinch or get tighter around your dogs chest when they pull and make it uncomfortable for them to walk. It didn't bother him and he pulled any way. When it cinched down, it also rubbed off all the hair on his armpits. The leash is unpadded and not really adjustable. If you clip one end of the leash to the front or back clip, you can use the full length of the leash. If you double clip the leash to the same clip or clip the two ends of the leash to different clips you can somewhat shorten the leash. Other than that, you cannot control the length of the leash. When I went to return the harness, I was unable to return it because it has a short return window. It is an expensive harness and I'm upset that I can't return it after really trying to make it work. The only harness I found that worked for my dog is a Gentle Leader Head Collar. It's one of those harnesses that clips around their neck and nose. It's like a horse halter, but for a dog. When he wears it, he does not pull at all. He can still fully use his mouth, but now he respects where I am and doesn't pull. It is the only thing I have found that works with my dog. I recommended the head collar to two other people with large dogs that pull (great dane & lab) and they now use the head collar and their dogs don't pull either.

Excellent quality, very strong
Bought for my rottie x bullmastiff, really strong and much better control with the front clip, fab product. Pink was a more of a fuchsia than the baby pink in the pic but preferred that anyway. Would recommend

Beyond Love
I absolutely love this freedom no pull harness. I have tried to walk my Staffordshire cross who is leash reactive on many other harnesses and I can’t! This makes walking and ease. Originally I didn’t love utilizing the front clip as it was a vast learning curve. After working with a trainer, and utilizing the front clip as a redirection tool... I. CAN. WALK. MY. DOG!!!!!

"THE BOMB"
This harness/leash set is "The Bomb"!! I have two 8 month old border collie/german shepherd mix pups that are around 50 lbs each right now. What a time I had before my pet trainer recommended these products! Unlike other harnesses these stay put!! No more wiggling out of them. I have much more control since they have the front clasp. This product makes walking so much easier and now I don't have to worry about them getting out of them and taking off on me. If you're looking for a product that is solid, well made and does what it says it does then buy this!! Thanks!!

I took him out yesterday and was amazed at how easy it was to control him
my husband walks the dog and mostly has him controlled, except when greeting people and other dogs. This helped him to control his movements as he was getting signals from the leash that he ignored with a regular leash. I wouldn't take him for walks because of this issue. I took him out yesterday and was amazed at how easy it was to control him. Great harness with multible ways of using it.

We returned it
I returned it because it was very awkward to use and we had been trying a lot of things to walk out dog better this was the worst walk we had with our dog he appeared to be uncomfortable with it and how the leashes were sitting kept getting tangled. I had high hopes initially
