The best foaming soap dispenser ever!
These are fabulous foaming hand soap dispensers. I'm rather obsessive about clean hands and these dispensers have made my daily multiple hand washings easier and even fun -- and way more cost effective than either regular soap or purchasing premixed foaming soaps in disposable dispensers. The clear plastic tube has clearly marked lines...fill up to the first line with water, add up to the second line with whatever liquid handsoap you want to use, and the remainder you leave empty because air is an essential component in creating foaming soap. Drop the colored cylinder over the top and screw it onto the tube. That's it...way easy! One of the cleverest designs of this particular dispenser is that you push down on the wide top to dispense the soap. You can push with one or more fingers, your palm, or wrist...it doesn't take much pressure. One push produces enough soap for an average wash; I only push twice when my hands are really nasty. Oh, and there's a little padding adhered to the bottom of this dispenser to make it a non-skid device. I liked my first dispenser so well I ordered four more for the rest of the sinks in my house. UPDATE (3/25/2017): All of my original foaming soap dispensers continue to work splendidly, plus I have purchased many others as gifts and all are well liked. I've had visitors emerge from my bathroom with a twinkle in their eyes, saying that's the niftiest soap dispenser ever; where can I get one. Truly, these are awesome, well manufactured, and attractive looking dispensers. Best of all, this dispenser produces such a wonderfully cleansing amount of foaming soap from such a small amount of liquid soap (the dispenser is filled with 60% water, 20% liquid soap, 20% air) that a 32 oz bottle of Dr. Bronner's unscented pure Castile soap lasts me many, many months -- even with five of these dispensers used daily in my house (and I'm rather like Lady Macbeth with my endless hand washing). I highly recommend these foaming soap dispensers.

Great product, great mechanics
I'm just updating this review. Just bought another one for another bathroom. This is a great product. If you are trying to figure out which one of these you should buy so you can put your own soap and refill it often this is the one. Most people think the issue is keeping the screen clean or it getting clog. But the real issue is the "recovery" -- how quickly does the aparatus come back up so you can get a second or third pump. On most of these you need two or three pumps and you don't want to wait between them. This dispenser has a quick and reliable recovery -- immediatley recovers and keeps on doing that without any cleaning or maintenance. In fact, I have never done any maintenance on this dispenser. Occasionally I wash out the container just to keep it fresh. But the mechanical aspects need not maintenance and I have had it for almost two years. I use pure Dr. Bronner's castile soap with some water. Great dispenser. Helps keep soap costs down and allows me to use the soap I want (which can be a little pricey.I was looking for a way to do a refillable foam dispenser and this has been a great solution so far. The ones in the store don't really refill and last long unless you buy their soap, but this one solves that. It does not clog (which is easy to clean) but, most importantly its springs do not wear out or clog so it is easy to pump it 2 or 3 times in a row with it bouncing back each time -- which is a big deal. I use pure castile soap and it works like a charm. Looks great, works great, wouldn't change a thing. If it lasts (I've had it a month) then it will save me a bunch on soap costs and let me use the castile soap that I love so much (but needs to be diluted).

5 stars for balance of practicality and aesthetics; 3 stars for longevity
I just purchased my second dispenser today in order replace the first one that I bought on Amazon Feb 8, 2015. When I refilled the pump today, I noticed a thin ring of plastic was loose and when I tried to pull it off I realized the neck with the screw threads on it was separating from the body of the bottle. I managed to refill it and screw it back together until the replacement arrives. So, this has lasted almost 2 1/2 years (that pro-rates to 51 cents a month - not bad). I am replacing it because it has had constant, daily use next to my kitchen sink and has served its purpose well. Unfortunately, when you walk in my front door you are in my kitchen. I have black granite counter tops and dark bronze faucets. The last thing I want is a brightly colored or chrome soap dispenser waving "hello" first thing as you enter the house. I didn't want glass (slippery hands+granite = possible shortened life span). This has a semi-grippy material on the bottom, so it stays put pretty well. If it falls over, no harm done. I like that the top is broad and you can push on it about anywhere in order to dispense. Bonus: with wet, slippery hands I can push down with my left wrist while holding a dish brush in my right hand and get a dollop of foam without stopping what I'm doing. I use it to wash hands, soap up the sponge to wipe down the kitchen and pre-rinse the dishes before I throw them in the dishwasher. I fill it with organic, liquid coconut soap. I don't water it down. I did in the beginning, but I prefer the soap full strength. I do stop at the air line, so that the pump functions properly. It makes the soap (which is not cheap) last much longer! I agree with another reviewer that the outside black material is a bit odd, almost like a rubbery plastic. It can show fingerprints or spills. I wipe it off with a sponge, but if it gets too manky I just put it under the faucet, give it a light scrub with the dish brush and then wipe dry. It's the correct balance of practicality and aesthetics for me, hence the second purchase. I hope my second one performs like the first (sometimes after a product is on the market a while, the manufacturer decides to cut corners and subsequent purchases are not as good as the initial experience). If it doesn't match the performance of the first dispenser, I'll update this review.

Works
Automatic sensor dispensers eventually fail. We always fall back to this manual model. Works well.
