This is a great figure, much nicer than I had expected of such a generic character, especially after seeing Hasbro's terrible looking 3.75 inch resistance trooper figure. My son and I have become rabid collectors of this line and are trying to get one of each of all of the new 6 inch figures as they're released, otherwise we probably wouldn't have bothered with this one but it has turned out to be one of the better figures they'e released recently.Having just got "The Art of Star Wars The Force Awakens" book by Pablo Hidalgo, it's pretty clear that this (and pretty much all the other new TFA figures) were modeled very closely on the reference photos in that book. The face sculpt is pretty good, but because the helmet is not removable (only the bottom chin part flips up) you can't see much of it. The articulation is similar to most of the other figures in the Black series 6 inch line, which is to say very good and can accommodate some pretty cool poses. However, the real strength of this figure lies in the paint applications, which Hasbro often struggles with in this line. Washes are used extensively on almost every part of the figure (helmet, jacket, belt/straps, boots, blaster) and really give it a cool battle-worn look, something I wish they'd do more of on other characters. In short, even though this is a nameless generic character, he's a great-looking addition to the collection. On a side note, I got lucky and was able to score this guy during one of the very, very brief periods that Amazon had it in stock for $21.99, a couple of bucks above the standard MSRP of $19.99, but still worth it with prime shipping. At the time of this writing (Jan 4, 2016), these wave 3 figures have just started to hit US retailers and are still pretty hard to come by and are currently listed on Amazon from third party sellers in the $35-50 dollar range. I definitely do not recommend paying that for this figure and I'm pretty confident that it will become much easier to find at the normal (somewhat reasonable) price in the near future.
