This light lights up nearly 5 acres of property at night, enough said.

The 150W units I bought are of excellent quality and sturdy. The lamps are almost ridiculously bright and light up my parking area like the sun. Mounting presented a few challenges, but nothing difficult.The cord is designed to be connected inside the mounting bracket when attached to a square pole or similar flat surface directly over where the power will come in, which is why it's so short. The mounting holes on the bracket are about 4" or 4-1/2" on center, too wide to mount the bracket directly on the box, but the lamp is too heavy to do it that anyway. I mounted mine directly to the wall with a couple of 3/8" x 2-1/2" lag bolts.I had to lengthen the power cord to reach the box where the previous yard lights were mounted.What I did was remove the circular plate on the knuckle opposite of the angle adjustment bolt, drill a 7/8" hole in it and mount a 1/2" weatherproof cord grip. Then, I dismantled the lamp and replaced the cord with a longer one - it's 18/3 SJOW cable - I used about 24", which I then routed to the cast box through one of the 1/2" threaded holes the previous yard lights were in, using another 1/2" cord grip. SOJW is stranded, oil-resistant and suitable for use outdoors. It will need to be secured to keep ice or whatever from pulling on it.If you don't wish to have the photocell turn the lights on and off, a piece of durable metal foil tape across the sensing window will do the trick and it will come on either with a switch or motion sensor, which is what I did. My motion sensor is made by RAB, and it has a daylight sensor of its own, so I didn't want both.

I bought this to replace an old mercury vapor light on my barn. I looked at several types and settled on this one because of the previous reviews. I bought it hoping to put it on the old mounting, but my electrician said it did not quite work and made a mount using a flange fitting and pipe. The construction is good, and it comes with an adjustment wrench nestled into the foam that might be missed.This is more like a street light than a security light. It lights up my entire barn lot and yard. I have it mounted at a slight angle pointed down the driveway and it is so bright that it is like meeting a huge truck with lights coming down the road as I drive into the lot.If you need light and lots of it, this is it.

This parking lot light has a manufacturing defect. I order 2 of them. Only 1 worked. Returned second one. Got another one it didn't work either. I'm returning it and getting my money back. Also they say pole mount. But they don't have anywhere to bring your electric line out of the side. Luckily I was putting it on a wood post so I could chisel out a notch for the electric line. The one that does work is nice and bright. But when you're on a 12' step ladder to hang these things. You don't want to have to keep going up and down removing it and reinstalling it to chisel out wood,trouble shooting it etc. I just hope the one stays working now. I will be purchasing a different brand now. Buyer beware

Great amount of light but mine only lasted 1.5 years, so not long lasting unit.Update-Although I could not find address to contact seller, they read my review and contacted me and offered a complete refund. I think this is great customer support since it had been one and half years since my purchase. Thus I changed my rating to a 5 star. I even bought another light just like this one to replace the one that failed

This light is very bright. I have a few of different brands on my pole building about 20 feet up. I like the light those put off, but couldn't find them anymore.This one I installed on my home garage about 10 feet up. ITS BRIGHT! I had to ask the neighbor if it was too bright at night for them. Time will tell if it last.The only con I have seen is: The need a longer wiring pigtail. Also there needs to be a way to run the wiring though the rear of the mount.You have to run the wiring through the mount- so in my case of a flush mount you have to drill a hole in through the wall and run the wire inside. You only have around 6 inches of wire to work with, so you better have a box right there.
