Carry this in the back of our Gator here on the farm. Very handy. Keep the edge sharp with a file which also helps if you have roots or tuff grass to cut through. Good price, handy spade to carry in a utility vehicle.

Does a great job digging in narrow areas between existing plants to fit just one more plant in. Easy to use. Not so useful to move a pile of dirt, but that’s not what I bought it for.

So, my sis said this was a awesome shovel for gardening and it’s her go to all the time. Well, she was right. A rocky soil is no problem for this shovel. This shovel slides into soil and displaces the rocks to allow soil removal. Great for replanting bushes or adding too an existing flowerbed. Was very hesitant to purchase considering the cost. Very expensive for a shovel. Think I will use for home invasion folks. Tell them to dig before they ring your bell.This was $58 plus a $10 shipping USPS cost. Maybe you can do better if you ship around. In any event it’s a solid buy.

I love this shovel. It is very sturdy. It is easy to cut through roots.

Years ago my mother bought this shovel at a Garden show. She loved it and all her gardening friends ordered it. When I moved into my new home a 3 years ago I also bought one - I love to garden and I am always doing a DIY project and have used this shovel so many times. I have other shovels that never get touched because they do not do what this shovel does. The head on the shovel digs through the soil and rock with minimal effort. I have to say I tend to leave this shovel out all the time, I should take care of it more but honestly it is tough and it lasts after years of being put to the test. A few weeks ago my pool returns were being replaced and the pool guys were having a difficult time digging out the area and asked to borrow my shovel. After using it they bought a few for all their trucks. I recently started gardening with my daughter and we both tended to need the shovel at the same time so I decided to order another one and this time I decided I should write a review. I rarely do reviews unless a product stands out to me. This is one of those products. If you garden or dig a lot in your yard order this product, hands down it will become your go to shovel!

The Spear Head Spade Gardening Shovel gets really high marks for its lightweight design. I've used it mostly for relocating plants and shrubs and for that use is outstanding. The design seems sturdy and its durability is TBD. So far, very pleased!

Great for digging holes to plant trees. I have rocky soil. It has made the process easier.
