Beautiful book, butโฆ
I bought this book as a birthday gift for my grandson who loves raptors. The photographs are simply beautiful.Butโฆ it looked used. There was a scrape on the front cover and what looked like greasy spots on the cover - the spots came off with gentle cleansing. There were a couple of spots on the inside pages that I couldnโt remove. I wished I had taken photos.I decided not to return it because heโs young and his birthday was that week.

Absolutely gorgeous but a bit short.
I wanted more! That being said, the photographs are stunning and the choice of bird species is surprisingly diverse. Best if you want to see new views of interesting birds. Do not go in expecting the photographs to help you learn identification. May be better as a print book? The zoom and rotate features worked well here, but it just isn't the same on a phone screen.

Simple and Beautiful
While this book does not cover all raptors of the world (mainly in North America I believe) it's still definitely worth a read. Fantastic and beautiful shots with simple descriptions that don't take away from the photographs themselves. It's just enough. Highly recommend!

This is art photography, not nature. The images are excellent. The raptors seem to be almost random/
Scott's photography is excellent, and some of the photos in this book are superb. The text is not particularly helpful save for the portion where she describes what she was trying to accomplish. This is an art photography book, not a nature book. Scott plainly respects the birds she photographs, but there's no apparent organization to the book. The birds are not in the wild. They live in rescue centers, for the most part, some returned to nature. Most are American species, but a few others are thrown in,with what seems randomness. That said, the book is worth viewing. The images show both empathy and skill. I was taken by the photos of a Black vulture chick.
