a little hard to wrap wire in tight spot, but seems to be working
I have to say that I have had this on my list for a while...trying to decide whether I should spend my hard earned money on something that I did not think had enough power to work. Well the opportunity came along and i went for it. It was pretty straight forward to install though somewhat awkward as the wires are long and get tangled easily in tight spots.I applied it as instructed and it went well, with a little frustration now and then when the wires caught on something. As for whether it works. ...I can only go by what I am see and hearing....or no hearing in this case. My house is about 23 years old and the pipes have been creaking for the last 4 years when you run the hot water especially. I have had this in place two weeks or so and I noticed yesterday morning that the pipes had stopped creaking and clanking. I am assuming that this is because the device has started to loosen and remove the scale, thus opening the pipe diameter, lowering the water pressure and getting ride of the clanking.I also noticed that tap water has a little more taste to it....again..assume this has to do with the additional calcium running through the system. Hope this goes away soon.

Maybe it works
Review for: Electronic Water Descaler - Water Softener Alternative - Reduces Limescale, HD043.Instructions could be a little bit better. How to install was shown, but where to install was not. I searched the Web and found a good location is the cold inlet to the hot water heater. Install was awkward, but easy. for the first wire, I just tried wrapping the pipe with the wire in a bundle. this became a mess after a few wraps of the pipe. I managed, but it took a little while. The second one, I wound it around a short piece of pipe and then wrapped the pipe. This went a lot faster. I tie-wrapped the Descaler to the pipe between windings and plugged it all in. Obviously, I can't tell that it is doing anything yet. It will take some time to see results.

Hardest part was finding a pipe to put it on.
I got this as I have semi hard water. It is an easy install once you find a location to put it. I have a shutoff valve in the garage for the water coming into the house so I ended up putting it near there. So far I have not noticed anything good or bad with my water. I will know more in a few weeks when I clean out some of the cat fountains I have as they tend to have some deposits in them after a few weeks. If it reduces these I will be happy. I will come back later and update this review if it does not work but for now it seems to perform as expected so I give it 4 Stars.

Easy enough to install, we'll see...
Our well tends to produce low pH water, so we have a neutralizing filter (calcium carbonate) installed. This brings the water pH up to neutral, however the water now has a much higher dissolved mineral content and tends to leave white stains that are visible around metal fixtures. This device was easy enough to install, but we will have to wait to see whether there's any difference in the amount of mineral deposits that are produced. My initial star rating is necessarily based only on the ease of installation, and so is of limited value. I will report back after a couple of months...
