Unwieldy to wham against anything for a housefly when still but if you llike tennis... ;)
Personally, it's too big and too heavy for me to use. We had one of these before and mostly I wind up zapping a fly against a window not swatting it in mid-flight. This racket is unwieldy for me to line up against a window. The handle is weighty so makes for a good grip for a tennis style swat but not for killing a fly sitting on most anything. The one we had before measures 5"x7" in the racket area, so I will suck up the $6 return shipping charge and find one that I can actually use. I rarely have been able to catch them in the air -- this would be fun if you were that good, but sadly, not Martina Navratilova here!UPDATE: Have to amend this with a comment about the company's customer service. They wrote, "We’re very sorry to hear this zapper didn’t meet with your expectation and we will reflect your feedback with our factory product development, maybe developing a more lightweight and smaller zapper in the future. As a responsible seller, our goal is to make every customer happy shopping …" They refunded my $6 shipping return fee sent a small token gift, and most importantly are *considering my feedback"! WOW. If they are an upstart, they seem to have a bright future!

Make die dead mosquitoes!
That's a local phrase in Hawaii (make is pronounced "makay") and it means something is REALLY dead. And this thing makes mosquitoes really dead. I love it. The USB charging is such a great feature, no more screaming in frustration when it's 11 at night and there are three evil bloodsuckers buzzing around in your bedroom and you realize you have no charged up AAAs.I've used similar wands in the past but nothing as powerful as this. It feels a lot sturdier in your hands than the cheapy ones, and this thing FRIES the bug til it disintegrates. You can smell its dead, charred body. Some folks may not appreciate that, but I've been living in the islands for 20 years and all I can say is, I find that sizzling sound very stausfying. This is the best mosquito wand I've ever owned - super pleased with spending a few extra bucks.

Seller came to the rescue!
Nov 2018 update: the seller contacted me straight away after I'd mentioned the original product i'd received was malfunctioning and seemed 'used' with scuffs/scratches. they immediately offered a replacement item which looks new and works great! they kept me in the loop from the start of the exchange until i received the item. customer service is fantastic!Oct 2018: like the idea but... was looking forward to using this to swat/zap mosquitoes but when it arrived, we weren't sure if it was actually 'new'? the handle was scuffed up and the round part of the racket's frame had scratches. it was also already 'fully charged' even though instructions were to complete a full charge of 4-6 hrs. it has a flashlight on the handle which we thought was handy but that worked intermittently. returning and planning to order another one that will hopefully be 'new'.

Works even without contact.
We live near horses, which I love. What I don't love are horse flies. So big, so creepy. So, when I saw this, I snapped it up and it works like a charm, often without doing anything more than being on. As soon as I grab it and turn it on, whatever I'm after flies right out of the room. Weirdly, so do my cats and dogs. I don't know if it makes some sort of subsonic sound, but it tends to clear out a room rather quickly. It takes out just about everything except mosquitos, which are too fast or too small for me to make contact with. But those slow monstrous horseflies are toast, literally.

Shockingly loud!
I tried the cheap D-battery powered swatter from H*rb*r Fr**ght, but they didn't last. This one has a lot more power and much better build quality. And when you hit a bug they explode like a firecracker. Sweeping through a cloud of gnats sounds like popping popcorn.Larger bugs may survive when hit in mid-air, but they'll be stunned long enough to finish them off. The charge seems to last a good amount of time, the real thing that will determine how often you charge it is how many bugs you have to fry.

Going on year three
A must have if you live in mosquito country, go camping, or experience fruit flies in the kitchen. This is a wonderful product and goes forever on a single charge. I tend to periodically charge it but have never run out of battery power. Those evenings on the deck are so much more pleasant with the zapper. It manages sweat bees as well. Rechargeability is a great feature.

LOVE this thing!
The battery lasts a really long time, and is super easy to use!Just a heads up to people who are looking for a small compact zapper, this one is kinda big. About the size of a badminton racket. Not quite as big as a tennis racket. But with it being bigger I think it’s easier to get the bugs you are aiming for.

Great tool for killing flies!
Once you get the hang of using this it works great! No fly survives! You still have to chase them down but you learn to get them quicker and more efficiently as you get used to using it. This brand worked better than another brand I tried. It doesn't always get them the first time but it is more effective than the other brand I tried and weakens them enough so they are easier to find. Quite often it does get them the first time and it may smell a little like burnt hair but wouldn't trade it! Can't stand flies in my house!
